This was my first time patronizing this establishment after living in Omaha for well over 9 years. I was sorely disappointed. I had wanted to try it because they had their signs up advertising their "cheese frenchies" for $0.99. So I go inside, browse the menu on the wall as you enter and there is nothing on the menu to specify that the combo meal and the special being run are for two different size sandwiches. I proceed to the register and place our order for 3 cheese frenchie combo meals, expecting to get charged the $0.99 for each sandwich, plus regular price for fries and drinks, NOPE, I got charged dang near $20 for 3 combo meals (for batter dipped, deep fried grilled cheese sandwiches no less). I mentioned casually to the cashier that the frenchies were advertised at $0.99 and she rudely tells me that THAT was for the 2 piece, the ORDER was for a 3 piece, like I am supposed to know this when it doesn't state that on the menu board and I have never eaten here before. There was no one behind me in line and when I came up to order, she never acknowledged me until I spoke first, she also never read back the order to me (which is fast food etiquette rule number one), and she never specified an order size (do you want the 2 piece or a 3 piece, large fries or regular fries, etc.), she just assumed that I was ordering the most expensive option available. To top that off, she failed to hand me our cups for our drinks, she shoved my receipt and card in my hand, did not give me an order number, and then I overhear her tell a coworker that I was "stupid" because I didn't know the difference between the combo meal and the special. When my number was called, the worker handing out the orders shoved the bags in my hand and when I asked for cups she shot me a dirty look. The fountain drink area is poorly set up in kind of an L shaped corner so only one to two people can access the area at a time, the drink lids are not labeled by what size cups they fit, and it was filthy. When we got the food home, less than 10 minutes later with the bag placed underneath the heating vents, the food was cold and mediocre at best. It was overly greasy, the bread was soggy in the middle of the sandwiches and the cheese was melted out of the sandwich middle. The french fries were too salty and stale to the taste. I have searched unsuccessfully for a website for this company to complain to the company owner but there isn't a company website (probably because of the poor customer service, horrible food, and outrageous prices). I guess that this restaurant has it's share of steady regular customers otherwise it would go out of business, but it will not count me in those numbers. I do not patronize establishments where I am...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought $40+ of food. A #3 combo for me and #3 & # 2 for the car behind me. I pull to the first window and no one was there. I waited thinking they were busy and then after a while I thought maybe they were doing a single window like other establishments, since I have never been here before.
So I pull to the second window and then someone showed up at the first window and the family behind me explains to them that there was no one at the first window so the car in front assumed to pull forward.
So one of Don & Millies staff comes to the second window. I apologized and explained to them what happened. Lady takes my money.
Then I told them am just going to take my drink and food and if they can give the car behind me the meal I bought for them.
A second Lady comes later and tells me when giving me the entire order that they are not going to give the second car behind me their food.
"That I have to take it all and pull over somewhere else to give it to them their food myself, that we are not allowed to do this. "
I never told them to go out of their way to deliver it, the family behind me in the drivethrough would of pulled over to the second window as well and received their food. There was no car in between.
You made buying someone else's a burger a much more of a hastle than it needed to be. You should of counted the second car as a paying customer and should of treated them with the respect they deserve by providing the SAME SERVICE as everyone.
There was nothing special, nothing harder, nothing out of the ordinary for you to have just let the car behind me pull up and pick up the order I treated them with.
It would of taken less than 20 seconds for me to drive off with my order and give the family behind me theirs. But in your eyes, it did not matter.
Do you really have a policy that you can't buy food for the car behind you and can't let them pull up?
I did not argue, yell or forced you to do anything, but this was a big L of a customer service as a first time experience by one of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis restaurant chain is generous to support schools and churches with 20% of the take. Sure would love to see some paper towels in their bathroom. There is no hands-free attachment at the base of the door to facilitate opening the door without using your hands after leaving the bathroom.
Employees continue to be friendly. Restaurant clean. Onion rings are just as good. Can't say much for the milkshakes, pretty much on par with the big fast food chains in terms of quality.
Very friendly service. Employees look you in the eye smile and say thank you. The building is clean. Bathrooms are clean. Onion rings are delicious and a good value. The dipping sauce is also great, I believe it is their own Don and Millie's dipping sauce.
A couple downsides are the restrooms have no paper towels and the door opens inwards, so take a napkin to the restroom with you to open up the door with and maybe dry your hands with. Also, heading west from the restaurant is very inconvenient. You can't make a left turn on to center from the restaurant, and you can't go around the block because the street is closed. I ended up going east on Center and making U-turn to head west. Maybe you can exit on to 108th if you go through the drive-thru, I never use...
