Not authentic. Service was shit. Ridiculous wait time even though they weren't that busy. no exaggeration it took OVER TWO HOURS for a mini pizza, a calzone, 2 microwaved meatballs, cheap toasted hoagie that was disguised as garlic bread, and cheap off-brand canned marinara. Paid over $40 plus a tip to the cashier, and a tip designated to the cooks. After ordering, we decided to come home for a little bit while we waited, since we don't live far away, and the lady at the counter said it would be 50 minutes. We were willing to wait, hoping they wait would be worth it. We came back to the store about an hour later, and still waited ANOTHER hour and a half to get our food. We put in and paid for our order in person a little before 6pm, didn't get our food until 8:30.... THIRTY MINUTES AFTER THEY CLOSE. We're convinced that they didn't even start our order until after we came back (reminder: an HOUR after we paid for our order.) The cashier was friendly, and you could tell she has to apologize A LOT bc of the inefficient 'cooks' in the back. There were two other people that asked for a refund bc their wait time was way too long for the price they paid. Go to Lighthouse Pizza near 72nd That store won't be open...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience when we were here. I talked my husband into trying this restuarant out. He does not like trying new places so this was a rare occasion. He ordered an all meat Calzone and when it came out it was an all cheese Calzone. The employee who helped us was amazing and asked if we would like to wait for the correct one to be made. Yes 👍 we said. It was close to closing time but she said not a problem I will get the cook to make a new one. So we waited. I ate my food so it didn't get cold and when the new order came out the cook had it in a to go box. Which was weird because we were told we could still eat in the restuarant. The new Calzone had very little meat in it at all. There was a lot of cheese in between meat pieces and my husband was not happy at all. So, we spent like $50.00 for this dinner and ot was very disappointing. I do not know how I will be able to get hubby to go back here. I know these things happen sometimes but when a restuarant is correcting an order error they usually make sure to get it extra correct when they redo the order. Usually a great place,...
Read moreI would not recommend any Don Carmelo’s. I made the mistake of eating at the Elkhorn one. I assume they both have the same owner. I was the only customer dining in five minutes after they opened. I have eaten here probably 100 times since they opened years ago. The tv was on a rerun of a college football game. I asked to have the tv switched to an NFL game. The waitress told me no NFL games can be watched in Don Carmelo’s. I talked to the lady who is the co-owner. She said her husband decided this policy. He then cam out and said the NFL disrespected the flag. I decided to not order my sandwich if I could not relax by watching a football game. I had drank one swallow of Diet Pepsi. They charged me $2.86 cents for ONE SWALLOW of pop. Apparently to them, that is being a good American business. I will never ever eat at any Don...
