Normally we make our trek from Lincoln during off season and bring our own lunches. This time we decided to bite the bullet and eat on site. We scoped out several spots, I figured we'd end up at the aquarium eatery. To our surprise the TreeTops Restaurant was open on a Monday and was what everyone agreed on.
The majority of items were $5-$7 apiece. Potato salad was $4. Chips were $2+. Kids liked the chicken strips and cheeseburger. Adult kids and my husband got a ton of hot dogs which they said were fine. Mac & cheese was that weird gas station gummy kind. Onion Rings were really good. Nobody liked the fries. All of the "fresh" sides... Potato salad, cheese & grapes, and desserts were all very good.
The set up is kind of a cluster "mistake". No one was in any kind of hurry to help anyone else. Between 4 adults and 2 kids we spent over a hundred bucks. Not entirely surprised, I get it.
Not pictured is my son & his wife's burger, 3 dogs, salad, fries,...
Read moreI feel pity for anyone who has ever ate here in the past or will eat here in the future. If I could give this a lower star I would. The prices would be fine if the food was at least Edible, sadly it was not. The sandwiches were nothing but lukewarm mush sqeezed in between stale bread. The fries were cold, soggy and bland. The service was dismal at best with the staff not even knowing knowing how the items were cooked, how does that even work?! How do you not know how something is cooked in a kitchen that you work in? I had to ask 3 times how my gardein chikn was cooked, the first two times the rude lady at the front counter told me she didn't know, with a huge nasty attitude. Most of the rest of the staff seemed tortured to even be working there. The only staff member that was nice, was the older man that helped us in the seating area, I wish I would have gotten this gentleman's name, he was...
Read moreCame into the Treetop cafe. My family grabbed the last 4 cheese burgers. The cashier was very nice. She told us to sit where we wanted. We grabbed a table. The cleaning crew were cleaning up. I told the cashier I would make sure the table was cleared. A short woman in her 50's piped in and said that was her table she has to clean up. "Ok I'm still going to straighten it up" I said. Well I'm tired she said and start clanging this making all sorts of racket. Knocking this and that around. My son has autism. That was fun trying to calm him down. What right did she have targeting my family. Was that her attempt at a racist attack on my family? We were finished by 3:45. That...
