Asked the cashier what was most popular, she said the gyro. So we ordered a platter, which is 18.99 and the single kong sandwich, which was I believe 11.49. Drinks were separate. I'm from the Chicago area, so if I pay that much for a burger, it better be Angus and come with fries. This was neither. It is a kong sized burger for sure, but it did not have enough flavor. It had char grilled lines but tasted like it was either a processed or low grade burger. I LOVE burgers, but this one, I could not. The condiments are self-serve in pump canisters. The mustard was runny. The gyro did not taste like Kronos, which, again, if you are from or have visited the Chicago area, you know what I'm talking about. It came with a salad and a side. We requested rice with beans, which was decent. I will not return. The other thing I want to mention is I literally ordered, went to the bathroom for at most 3 minutes, and when I came back, my husband had the food. Everything was cold, according to my husband. I was on a call, so I assumed the food had cooled off. But he said it came like that. I shoukdve just taken it all back; I suspected it wasn't fresh for how quickly it was served. I'm truly disappointed. Especially for 50 bucks.

First time in the area and the state so me and my wife decided to stop at a local place instead of a chain. The service was ok, atmosphere was very nice and clean. We had the gyro plate with beans and rice, which was suggested and a single Kong burger. The foods presentation was amazing. Huge burger and the gyro plate full of meat. Unfortunately I had a bad feeling about the food when I was called to get it literally less than five minutes of me sitting down. I'll just cut it short and say everything was cold. Nothing was made fresh which was obvious from the waiting time. We're use to kronos meat and this was not that. My wife didn't even finish her food I barely finished mine. Doubt if we will be in the area any time soon but never again. I typically give a place the benefit of the doubt but for the price (over $40) I'd expect better quality. Or at the least hot food. I don't mind paying for good food but this place missed the mark today. I do not recommend.

*First-time customer *Walked in lobby and immediately an overwhelming smell of urine and urine cakes coming from the bathrooms. I almost left on the smell alone but I love a good cheeseburger. Ordered the $20 triple cheese burger with excitement.... I noticed nothing on the grill cooking... i.e. no burgers. On the grill in a pan covered in tin foil cooked patties. Our food was prepared fast and looked delicious. First bite, the patties were absolutely not fresh, dry, overcooked zero seasoning and tasted like cheap sysco frozen patties. I asked the lady behind the counter if the beef was fresh because it's tastes old and dry and she said yes cooked today. I ask her do you make your own patties she said no they get them from a truck. I am extremely disappointed for a $20 burger ( our total with my wife and son $81!!!!)it's was not even a real hand made patty but a cheep frozen pre-made one. Way over priced for the product

Price, quality AND quantity is all off. You pay the price of a resturaunt meal for a burger that is pretty huge, but the patties are just berry thin charred beef. Not cooked, charred. Borderline burnt. No fried come with a $20 burger, nor a drink. Which is honestly disappointing, because if you go to outback and get a $20 steak, you get a beverage and a side with that. They are next to the zoo, but honestly. I would have rather waited in line on a busy day and payed for admittance to the zoo only to go eat at the zoo's resturaunt by the aquarium and left without seeing the zoo. Which is not cheap, but at least it would have been worth it. My daughter got like some chicken strips and French fries and she didn't want to eat them, she's 2. I tried them and they ended up in the trash. Fries were bland af and they chicken fingers tasted frozen and without any seasoning. Just gross. I had memories of going to the zoo and eating at King Kong in the early 2000's and the nostalgia just wasn't enough to take any pleasure in going there. Whoever the manager is, have some respect for yourself and the business you operate. Do better, seriously. And to whomever owns this location, 100% change policies, quality and update your meals. It is definitely fast food and it is less than a minute down the road from a McDonald's. Make it worth the trip, and consider new employee's if you cannot get a handle on them. Because whatever you're doing now, obviously isn't working. I went there on a Monday afternoon after school hours, the Zoo was packed and I honestly thought King Kong was closed because it had no...

Had the Sirloin dinner, awesome cooks, they really know their steaks! Potatoes & Rice is the way to go! Salad was great, too. Cost me less then $25 on a non-special day. That's pretty good price for a Sirloin you could share and still be full... UPDATE 2/22/24 : STEAK WAS UNDER COOKED! That's a first, usually they are spot on. I forgive the cook and will go back again, but what bothered me this trip was; I showed up around 7:30pm and they close at 8:00pm, but they wouldn't let me dine in! I was alone, I have good table manners, and I don't make a mess. Actually, my OCD makes me wipe down the table and push in my chair when I'm done! The meal was large, but easily consumed within 20min. I think the asian guy just wanted out early! He did shut the "open " sign off as I was waiting for my steak (7:38pm). It just wasn't like them to make it feel inconvenient or non comforting to be there. I liked the stern lady who used to be there running the show. She ran a tight shift and cut no corners! When the sign says "closed at 8:00pm" that didn't mean have your order in and you out by 7:30, it meant sit, relax and enjoy your dinner. By the way, no orders will be taken after 8 or the last order has to be in by -:-- for dine-in and -:-- for to go orders! He (the host) seemed to be lazy, or a slacker or maybe just not a company man. I could be...

After passing by on 3 previous excursions from Kansas City to the Omaha Zoo, I decided to finally give this fast food place and it's hard to miss Giant Ape advertizing a try.

Word to the wise, a family of 4 can share a large fry and the double kong burger alone was more than enough for me (and I have a large appetite, especially after walking a zoo).

My wife got the gyro and fried mushrooms. I got the double Kong burger and a large fry, and my son got the tenders. Everything came out steaming hot and in large proportions as I said. I thought the burger was really good (if not on the well done side for those who aren't into that), and the tenders and fries were pretty good. My wife wasn't as impressed with her gyro and mushrooms, can't win them all.

All of this ended up running a $50 price tag, which felt pretty expensive for 2 adults and a toddler to eat fast food. We obviously in hindsight could have opted for just the gyro, burger, and tenders...however that still would have run us nearly $40 which is quite expensive.

Overall my main critque would be to maybe lower the prices a few bucks. The novelty of being acrossed from the zoo will certainly net first time customers from out of town the first visit. However, the prices may keep them from making a...
