The tacos de birria are amazing which is why I would order from here at least 2 times a month. I had typically enjoyed my experience with the staff and never had issues with my order until last week. I made a group order for pick-up of 20 tacos and 7 consome. When I arrived at my location to eat I noticed all 9 tacos de birria were missing. I called the restaurant and they had agreed to give me a refund since I could not pick-up the tacos and they could not deliver. When I arrived at the restaurant later in the day for said refund I was greeted by Noelia, the owner's daughter. It took $20 worth of food to accuse me of stealing. It took $20 worth of food to slander my character so the employees did not have to pay for their mistake. They could only give me credit for those 9 tacos; however, what they failed to notice is that the group order I made for 8 individuals was wrong. Only 1 person, who ordered a torta, received their correct order. The group nor I was asking for a credit on the whole meal; we simply wanted a refund for the food we did not receive. We were unable to receive said refund because "[the employees] would have to pay out of their pocket." I do not want your tacos nor do I even want MY money back at this point. What I want is for your employees to treat your customers with respect when they enter your restaurant or order take-out. If you are going to accuse someone of stealing, please have that video available for the customer to see as well. Another great suggestion is if you cannot do refunds, make it clear that you only do credit before an order is placed for pick-up. Finally, when someone does place a larger order, make sure to double-check that order with the customer so they do not need to return to your restaurant for the food, since you do not deliver. May this experience help your business flourish and that other individuals do not receive the treatment I did. A business speaks higher volumes in the way they react to mistakes than when everything goes well. I do, however, praise Noelia for keeping her composure and running the restaurant in her father's absence at such...
Read moreWhat the restaurant might be lacking in atmosphere, it more than makes up for it in taste. And while the restaurant could use some TLC and a few more light fixtures, it is quite clean, so that's not a worry.
This is the restaurant you go to if you want the best Birria Tacos in town. And yes, if the thought even crossed your mind, get the Birria Taco Pizza on the menu, and order it with fries if you want to share it with a group. It feeds 3 to 5 (depending on the hunger level of the group).
And believe it or not, I think I prefer the Birria in the pizza form. Just make sure you eat it as soon as possible because the juices from the Birria will saturate into the bottom layer and make the slices harder to hold the longer you wait. But that doesn't mean I'll stop ordering the tacos from time to time. Both of them are incredible. Again, they are the best I've had in town so far.
The first time I ordered from this restaurant, I got the Quesabirria tacos through DoorDash just to see how they stacked up against others I've had. And let me tell you, it was so good that I had to visit the actual restaurant a week later so that I could transcend into heaven on Earth once more.
As a heads-up, you will need to order the Consomé (beef broth) on the side as an extra item if you want to dip your tacos into it. It's normally included with the tacos at a lot of other places, so that's why I'm mentioning it. This is the only way to eat Birria in my opinion (this goes for the tacos and the pizza), so it's a must-have if you want the full experience (think of it as Mexican French Dip).
The restaurant serves complimentary bean dip and chips instead of salsa or queso, so if you aren't a fan of beans, be aware. I love them, so it was a welcome difference to set them apart from the rest.
I also ordered a regular margarita on the rocks, and I would happily recommend those as well.
I plan to make this a regular restaurant into...
Read moreWORST restaurant EVER! I was so disappointed going to this establishment. I tried it because it has a 4.3 review and was craving Mexican food. I don't know what type of food they are serving. Has no flavor, meat was rubbery, chicken was dry, and food had no flavor. I came in with my whole family after a long day at the zoo. We were tired and hungry. Party of 14, so we knew the gratuity was going to be added to our bill automatically...however, the service DID NOT deserve 15%. If it was to me, I wouldn't have left a tip. We came in, no one at the establishment... we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The waiter took our order and wrote it down on a paper pad. 15 minutes passed by, and we didn't have our drinks or food yet. She came back and said what I ordered, the pozole they had run out of, so I ordered the fajitas mixed. After 25 min. The food came, except my food, my mom's food, which was 2 chicken tacos, fries order, and a steak taco with no veggies. We had to wait 25 more minutes for them to bring our food(at this point, everyone else had already finished their food). They were all a mess, didn't know our order, so they kept asking what we ordered. It was the WORST customer experience I've ever had. THEY NEVER apologized! My mom ended up telling them not to get her tacos, and I ended up not eating my fajitas. This restaurant should be ashamed to call themselves a restaurant, especially a Mexican restaurant. I hope they get better and train their waiters better. At the end we all had to go to the host stand to tell them what we ordered so we could pay. It was a mess and they never ever apologized for the mess up or anything. I HATE THIS PLACE!!! Take your money elsewhere. If I could I would give it...
