I’m torn. The shredded chicken soft taco is AMAZING. Probably my favorite taco around the Omaha area. However the carnitas taco is just the opposite. Barely edible. Where the chicken is moist, shredded and perfectly flavored, the carnitas resembles beef jerky. Thick, hard chunks of pork. It was truly disappointing since I don’t often get to this part of town. The service is just ok. Nothing special. I almost wish I could just help myself like other authentic Mexican restaurants. The free chips are different then most. They give you a handful in a small bowl, held down with beans and cheese. You pour the salsa on each chip to eat. It’s actually pretty good. The worst part about this place is the location. It’s a pretty run down area with questionable characters everywhere. Lock your car and hold onto your valuables. Oh and they take cash and card for payment. Which is nice since most places like this...

I go here to eat, probably too often for my wallet! But I have tried almost everything of theirs! My personal favorite items are their chimichanga, loaded fries, quesadillas, and of course tacos! But my top is their gordita! But I love and I mean LOVE their chorizo 🤤. Personally I haven't found any other places that are as good as Los Portales! But their lengua, steak and chicken are all delicious! Their portions are perfect for what you pay for! As well they don't skimp out on their guac! Their Verde sauce is delicious, their rojo sauce is good but not my personal favorite. The only thing I need to try is more of their seafood options, but I'm such a sucker for pork! I will say they do get busy and sometimes you can wait for your food. I order online most of the time. So I personally don't have any issues. I just wish I lived closer to them! I wish them nothing...
