Jules Ale Works came recommended by a friend. We strolled in on a sunny and warm Saturday afternoon around 1 and were pleasantly surprised to see they had a rooftop patio! Although it was about 50 out, it was still too cold for me to eat outside so we sat indoors by the roll up garage door. Great service from the Hostess and immediate drink orders taken by our server. Both my b/f and I like stouts but this particular brewery didn’t have anything but a milk stout, so I tried an 8 Oz of that and wasn’t really impressed. We went on to try the Merlin’s cream ale and Chicken Sweaters. Both were quite mild in flavor and not my style of beer, but I can see why there’s some appeal in each. We started with kegger chips (my friend raved about them) and the brew pub pretzels. The kegger chips were an odd flavor with a Gorgonzola cream sauce and pork belly and although I wouldn’t order them again, I’m glad I tried them. They were different and definitely very bold with the Gorgonzola cheese and cream sauce. The beer cheese for the pub pretzels was pretty solid in my opinion but my b/f said he had to add salt, and that’s odd because he is the most salt sensitive person I know. He had the beer cheese soup and I loved it, full of flavor, rich, and bold. Most of the burgers they offer are $14 and for that price I expect an amazing burger and higher quality beef, but they fail to mention on the menu the type of ground beef used. That steered me away from ordering because I didn’t want to be let down by a pricey mediocre burger. I probably shouldn’t assume though and perhaps one day if I’m in the area, I will give it a try. I settled on the Italian beef topped with Chicago hot relish and made with a braised pot roast with a side salad with “homemade” blue cheese. This order was probably the most disappointing to me. I’ve had some pretty amazing Italian beefs in my life so I’m probably extremely picky on this dish, but it sounded great and I went for it. I didn’t like the braised pot roast much, the hot relish wasn’t hot, and the au jus was bland. The homemade blue cheese was extremely boring and tasted like ranch with blue cheese crumbles thrown in. All in all I think this place has potential, they seem to be extremely engaging with their customers on google and are eager to please and that says quite a lot. And if they offered dark stouts I’d probably come back to hang on the patio and just drink. Not sure after I order a burger though, what would be left for me to...
Read moreWe've been to Jukes three times now and have had a great experience each time. I love IPA's and their "Without it, We Die" is my favorite of all of their IPA's! It's jammed with flavors and easy to drink. We have had the pretzels and cheese curds for apps, both delicious and good portions for the price. The wedge salad ( I thought) was huge and delicious. The rooftop bar is well shaded no matter where you sit and you can see the main street of old downtown Elkhorn. It's a really cool brewery with a great set up. We have stayed for at least an hour each time we've come and that is because the atmosphere is top notch. I've read some of the bad reviews left so far and I have to say I really disagree with them. If you come at a normal meal time, you are going to have to wait. That shouldn't be a surprise to people. The food window is full every-time I look at it, which tells me people love the food. The servers have to carry all of the food up the stairs each trip, so yeah it takes a few more minutes. This place is a new hot spot and people love coming here. The long waits are probably due to the shortage of workers available and the fact that people love to stay and hang out on the...
Read moreWe came in on a Tuesday night with a party of 17! The space is rather small, but the waitress and other employees were more than happy to accommodate my family. We were visiting from out of state and had the opportunity to gather and chose Jukes.
Cheese curds were great too!!! Get them for an appetizer!
Service was fast and friendly. Food was excellent!! We LOVED the tater tots. They were so good and I highly recommend them! I ordered the chicken wrap. It was just ok. But between all 17 of us, we all had something different. Everyone was pleased with their food. I would LOVE to see a small town Nebraska restaurant have freshly made beef Pattie’s in house for their burgers. I would have ordered one but was told they are brought in frozen.
Beer selection was great and many in the party had a drink and were happy with their choices! The waitress also had great suggestions for a person’s taste.
Great experience. So grateful they were able to accommodate our large family and we will be back on our next visit!
Parking is limited. Didn’t bother us to walk from down the street. Kid friendly. Great for a...
