Kolache Factory — Restaurant in Omaha

Such a bummer experience this morning! I love this place, but I came through & asked for the pepperoni (my FAV) & was told they were out & I said okay, I would have to come back through after looking at the menu u online because I wasn't sure yet what I wanted as that was mainly what I was going to get. They rudely responded & said "well, we don't have any cut up pepperoni, so I have no idea when we will have more" which is a response that didn't really make sense to what I said. I said I would be back through in a moment. I ordered several & was asked if I wanted them warmed, which I said yes please. I assume the same person that was running the drive through is the same at the window, which their demeanor was very curt/annoyed. Food was okay, but they were totally cold- usually warmer even when we doordash them verses when they gave them to me. Also were incorrectly labeled, so I accidentally ate one of my spouses. People have off days & things happen, but a bummer to have the attitude from the cashier plus a less than stellar experience with the food. The receipt doesn't have a name on it or else I...

So at this rate, I'm addicted to these kolaches. Once I tried their bacon egg and cheese i was hooked forever. The perfectly balanced flavors and equally perfect portion sizes earns this place five stars all on its own.

However

Theres a sixth star I'd give this place just for Alvaro alone. You treat this man right and he treats you like family. I am by no means a morning person, but all it takes is a bit of comfort food and a short encounter with his infectiously positive attitude and I feel encouraged for the day ahead.

The food is what brought me here, but the staff are the ones that made me a loyalist - no mcdonalds breakfast for me ever again.

And this here, people, is the short version of everything i love about kolache factory. I could write a short novel here. Just take my advice: start with my first love, the bacon egg and cheese. After that just try everything and you'll find 5 or 6 kolaches you fall in love...

This was my first time trying kolaches. And you guys... Wow. For those who haven’t tried them, these kolaches are little clouds of joy. The rolls have a hint of sweetness similar to King’s Hawaiian rolls that are stuffed with a pocket of savory goodness (you can also get sweet ones). We got 5 flavors. These are my personal rankings of the ones we tried:

1 - Ranchero (scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, picante sauce, jalapeños) 2 - Sausage and gravy 3 - Sausage, eggs, and cheese 4 - Bacon, eggs, and cheese 5 - Philly cheesesteak

Their lobby is currently closed but their drive-thru is open. You can order right at the drive-thru or you can pre-order online and select a pick-up time.
