Virtuoso, La Casa's and Big Fred's - move over. You need to make room for Lyle's Pizzeria at 52nd and Leavenworth - as one of my very best pizza places in the Omaha Metro area. We were having a small gathering so I picked up for take out one of Lyle's Chopped salads, one small small Margherita pizza, one small Fungi pizza, one small Bianco pizza and one small Tre Carne pizza. Turned out it was way too much food - but none of it will be wasted. That piece of Tre Carne tasted too good to be true after air frying it 4 minutes at 420 degrees for this a.m.'s breakfast. My wife said the Margherita was great. Did not try. But the other 3 pizzas were perfection. You have to taste these works of art to confirm what I'm saying. I do not know the correct words to give Lyle's Pizzeria the credit it deserves. That one salad could have been easily stretched to satisfy four people. It was by far the freshest and best new tasting salad (dressing too) I've experienced in years. To top it off, sitting at the bar waiting for my order (which came from the kitch on time and hot), I started sipping on the Gelato Sour specialty house cocktail suggested by one of the friendly and very interesting bartenders. That sip turned into gulps because of the Gelato Sour's insatiable taste. It was really that good. I give thanks to the the drink gods it cost $12 bucks or I would have had to leave my pickup and take an Uber home. Congrats to the owners. I would be surprised if my great grandkids are not enjoying this uniquely superlative restaurant for...
Read moreI heard about Lyle’s from a friend who recommended it. The building is adorable in my opinion just for starters. It is very homey and clean with the floors sparkling. The pizza has to be the best one in Omaha. I’ve tried practically every pizza joint there is in Omaha except Tiny’s and Dolomiti. This place is relatively casual which I enjoy, but if you’re looking for something fancy you could still come here without feeling like you’re over dressed. I recently found out I am lactose and gluten intolerant so I was looking for a joint with at least an option for gf crust since I was going to take a lactaid I wasn’t to worried about the cheese , luckily Lyle’s had that option for me. I went in with my mom and a friend and we ordered some appetizers. I’m not a fan of pesto, but my mom (who’s a big foodie) loved it. My friend who was unsure about the pesto also loved it. We ordered our pizza with some gf crust, but sadly they were out :(. I still ate the pizza since I don’t have celiac disease and I just get some bad cramps with lactose and gluten and I’m so happy I did. This pizza blew my mind! It had goat cheese, arugula, and full garlic cloves which melted in your mouth. I was shook this pizza was beyond amazing and came really fast. Our waiter was engaging, but not to hovering. He recommended an amazing mock-tail to my mom which she loved as well. If you have any family or friends coming to Omaha BRING THEM HERE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!! but side not if they are gf call Lyle’s before coming just to reassure they have what...
Read moreMy wife and daughter and I dined at Lyles for the first time last night, arriving at around 5:50. They were already starting to get busy, but we were seated immediately. Our hostess was very personable and very attentive throughout our meal. We ordered three pizzas. A 16 inch tre carne, a 12 inch sausage, pizza, and a 12 inch potato pizza. I enjoyed an ice cold fresh tasting Fairy Nectar IPA while we snacked on an warm olive and pita bread appetizer. Our pizzas arrived and looked very good. It was a definite failure on my part that I didn’t take some pictures for this review, but trust me, they looked as delicious as they tasted We tried the potato first and it was really delicious. Not being a vegetarian, I wasn’t very keen on even trying it, but I was really surprised at how much I did like it. I would definitely eat it again! We tried the sausage with goat cheese pizza next, and it was also extremely good. It was my second favorite to the tre carne. The fresh prosciutto, combined with pepperoni and sausage was excellent! The crusts of all three pizzas were cooked to perfection, crisp, and delicious. But not so delicious to detract from the flavor of the toppings. It was a lot of food so we did take home a fair amount of pizza, which I’m sure will be delicious cold or warmed up the next day. The pizza was delicious and the atmosphere was very friendly and laid-back, so we will definitely be going back. I highly recommend that any pizza lover should give...
