My review for my experience on 12/17/2021 Before I start my review, which is for the food only, let me just say that the young man that waited on me was very pleasant and polite, and that was the best part of my experience tonight.
I used to go there before the remodel and the food was very good. We have eaten there many times and their food was ALWAYS very good. Tonight was the first time going back since their remodel but I had my normal expectations of good Chinese food. My order was for one egg roll, a 12 oz. order of hot and sour soup, and an order of the pork in hot garlic sauce. I arrived on time and my food was ready. I immediately drove home. On the way home, I was very surprised that I could not smell my food at all. Anyway, I got home and immediately started eating. My hot and sour soup broth had good flavor to it but that is all it was. Just broth. I'm guessing the person that dished it up did not stir it, as there could not have been more than one or two tablespoons of anything in the soup. It did taste good but it was only a little over warm temperature. My egg roll was about room temperature and not very flavorful. My pork with spicy garlic sauce was next. I opened the container hoping for the best. It was a very large portion, I will give them that, but the sauce was a strangely thick and gelatinous like nothing else I have ordered or received anywhere, and like everything else, barely warm. The sauce tasted like an extremely thick and very slightly spicy sweet and sour sauce of some kind. There were a lot of crunchy carrots and celery, but hardly any pork in that huge container of food. The pork that was in there was cut into the smallest strips that I have ever seen in food, and I could not detect even the slightest hint of garlic. It didn't taste remotely like any Asian food that I have ever had. Massive portion, but the food was completely BLAH! Based on my experience tonight, I will not likely ever go back, and I cannot in good faith recommend Three Happiness Express to anyone else. I would have to say that the owner or owners have ruined a...
Read moreOk so im very new to Omaha, been here 2 months. Im from Chicago so this is a huge difference. Small but still have lots to enjoy.
This happen today 5/14/16
Which bring me to the many different variety of Cuisines that Omaha has to offer. I was told that Three happiness Express was very good and had best of Omaha 2016 2015 and another year, so I come and try it out. I have the jalapeno chicken and I will not lie the food quality is not my issue. The food was actually good.
My issue is the fact that I didn't want the rice, instead I wanted to go back home and steamer my own jasmine rice and have with my meal.
So I asked the lady can you please not give me the rice and instead I'll have broccoli, she tells me it would be extra. I said ma'am i dont want the rice, instead can i have broccoli. She tells me that i can have it, but it will still be a charge. So i just let it go and agreed to pay for the broccoli.
So I asked if the rice could be put it in a separate container, since im paying for it I will just take it. She informs me that in order to put it in another container it will be another coat lol
I'm not sure if this is the way of things in Omaha....Yet this to me is a rip-off why would I have to pay more for a vegetable if I don't want you rice and second why would I have to pay for a container on the side when I don't want to the rice in my food from my original order.
It just shows that we give our money to restaurants and we allow them to make rules that don't make sense after they get big and feel important...
Maybe, just maybe we should stop allowing them ( big companies and restaurantes ) to make the rules.
We are the consumers, we pay for the food and we should step up and not go for it but it will take more than just me.....It will take more ppl who see it as wella
Just my...
Read more🛑☢️AVOID. This is NOT the way Chinese food is made. Drowning in THICK RED SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE ON EVERYTHING! See other similar complaints. I definitely had to complain until they fixed it. Can't even taste the food without a mouthful of sugar flavor! I can order this dish in multiple Asian places and it is NOT covered in sauce, as well as, it does not match the photo people have posted over the years. Triple Delight and Hot Tofu. The rice isn't even sticky steamed rice either. This place has gone down in quality and service. The staff tried to argue that's the way they cook it, its traditional, do I want less sauce?....Um NO this is definitely NOT traditional Asian food, I'm half Korean and have ordered this dish all over the US. Paid less too. The Asian looking cook came out and argued with me too, almost non stop, even while another staff member was trying to show me some options to replace it. She opened up FB for the photos, but even couldn't identify the right dish to the photos. Everyone in the dining room had a dish that was covered in the red sauce too. What the heck?! The staff even argued about how the photos aren't their dishes..what? Its attached to the listing and actually should be made in that way. The cook finally fixed it, in the stir fry style, it should have been, and apologized but man, it took some escalating..the only thing authentically Asian was his style of street arguing. He even said to apologize to my Asian Mom. What he fixed was a little better but not much. They said they don't offer refunds either and no manager is on site. PS. My Asian Mom was sitting by my Dad's side in the hospital, we skipped lunch cause the hospital...
