I get food to go here during my work lunch break somewhat often. And I have for years. I really enjoy the fresh veggie bowls.
Most recently on Fri 7/24 I had a very pleasant interaction with Store Manager Spencer. There was a customer directly in front of me in line (during the beginning of typical daily lunch rush time) that wanted to place 7 orders all at once. Each of his orders had specific instructions that he had to read off from a list on his cell phone. Which proved to be very time consuming. Spencer politely explained (I myself heard the exchange) to him that going forward in this specific instance it would be beneficial for all if orders of that size would be called in prior and ready upon pick up. That way the line waiting doesn't back up, which makes complete sense to me. After all of this customer's ordered were dictated from his phone and his food was being prepared, the customer randomly decided to cancel his order and left. Leaving 7 orders of food already in process left in limbo.
Despite the employees frustration (and frustration from myself as well considering I was on a very strict time frame during my lunch break) Spencer kept his cool and just continued on as normal. He apologized to me for the extended wait period, even though he wasn't at fault. Spencer handled the situation well.
I will continue to be a customer of this specific PepperJax location. Thanks!
Side note...I do want to personally comment on a negative review left by Kyle S 3 days ago claiming "flooding" at this specific location. This is absolutely NOT true. The random "dripping" that happens is solely due to the extreme heat & humidity Omaha has been experiencing over the past 30-45 days. The "dripping" is caused by the AC & venting system. Many businesses have been dealing with similar issues as well. In fact I was at a Buckys gas station over the weekend & the front windows were covered in condensation from the heat/humidity. Read moreMy family and I come to this location a lot. We love the food and the guys on the grill are really cool. But the night crew some are rude, and never say Hi...We went in on Friday June 18th, 2018 @ 06:24pm. The lady on the grill was very nice but looked extremely hot, like sweating bad. Felt bad for her. There was 2 new guys, and a bigger gal. I asked later on what her name was, he said Marly. Hope it's right. She was extremely rude to both of these workers. There was a couple before us that he was dealing with on the register. He was getting there fries ready and she stops him and says you don't need to do there fries and she points to us and says you need to make sure you do this customer's order of light salt first. Hmmmm I really never mind waiting for my special order. The couple in front of us was there first so do their order first. Well then while we were paying she yells at the other young man about getting her RICE BOWLS NOW... She needed 3 made. I'm sorry but I feel this lady needs to be trained on how to handle other employees around the work place. Be kind to others. It's a job and your suppose to like and enjoy it, but if people you work with are hostile and horrible to you then they quit. Not good for turn over view. Read moreI showed up at 6pm there were about 7-8 people in front of me. But only 3 had not yet ordered so I figured the line would be moving fast. Nope 25min later I finally got my food..lesson learned I won't come back during busy meal times. The part that led me to give this place 1 star was the total lack of respect from a tall young man behind the counter. He stood there joking and talking with his coworker like I wasn't even there. When my food finally came in front of him he told me the total and just pushed my bowl towards me. I told him I had fries, then requested a bag. Again without looking me in the face he said the bags are around the corner if there isn't any I will get you one. The bags were literally 1 in from him. He gave me very little eye contact. And treated me much different then the person behind me. I looked around the corner where he pointed and there was no evidence of bags, it didn't even look like there was a place for bags. I walked back to the man and he ignored me. Instead he asked the gentleman how he was what he ordered and was very kind and respectful to him and kept good eye contact with him. I stood patiently for the bag and he never gave it to me. I had to lean over the counter and get it myself. All people should be treated with the same respect. Period.
