We moved to the neighborhood about 7/8ish months ago but have lived in Omaha many years. I’ve eaten here for over 20 years, but since moving here and eating it more regularly, my fond and nostalgic memories have been replaced with the sad reality that they’ve gone downhill. We moved to Dundee in Halloween weekend ‘22, and my MIL was here to help with the toddler while we unpacked. We ordered multiple entrees, salads, a pizza; the works. I remember my MIL saying it would be hard for her to live so close to this place, she’d want to eat there every week. We ordered again the next week, and it’s all been downhill since then. We’ve ordered at least once a month, and our last visits included an order that was wrong (received the wrong entree, we had to bring back the wrong entree to get the correct one), something was missing the next order (cheesy loaves, I said I’m not coming back for them and the girl said she’d put a note that we were missing the loaves and to get them free next order, that never happened the next order). And our last two visits, after waiting the quoted time frame, walk into the restaurant to be asked my name and then deer in the headlights look. Ask my name again, run to the kitchen, disappear 10 minutes, and come back to say it’ll be another 10 or so minutes. Last night we waited 1.5 hrs for a medium pizza, one entree (the sampler; it’s literally already made and you just throw sauce and cheese on it and warm), and a large salad. The soup that came with the entree was cold, like it came from a refrigerator. There were two occupied tables when I walked in and two cars in the drive thru lane, so not terribly busy. The order was placed before 6p and we didn’t walk out of the restaurant with our order until 7:15, so it’s not like we ordered at closing. Not sure we’ll be back again. Bummer bc it was actually a highlight of moving nearby, but we’ll be finding a new...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of enjoying a pizza that had me overcome with happiness with its incredible sauce. From the first bite, it was clear that this pizza was something special. The sauce was rich, bursting with flavor, and perfectly complemented the fresh and generous toppings. It had a delightful blend of tanginess and herbs that made each bite an absolute delight and just the way I enjoy it. I'm a true believer that the sauce makes the pizza, and this sauce was on point. I could do with a little more sauce personally, but it was well balanced with the pizza.
However, when it came to the mozzarella sticks, I found the marinara sauce to be a bit sweeter than I typically prefer. While the sweetness might appeal to some, it was slightly off my ideal flavor balance. I personally do not like sweet tomato sauces, and prefer the more tangy styles. Despite this minor drawback, the mozzarella sticks were still very tasty, with a crispy exterior and gooey, melty cheese inside. I will admit I was a little worried that the lasagna I had would be made with the same sweetness level, but was relieved and actually overjoyed that the sauce used on the lasagna was as tasty as the pizza sauce, and yet very different. I may have actually dipped some of my mozzarella sticks in the lasagna sauce to get the flavor mixture I was craving. Overall, the experience was awesome. The pizza was fantastic with its amazing sauce, the crust was perfectly cooked, and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. Even with the slightly sweet marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great pizza and delicious appetizers along with other tasty pasta dishes. Sgt. Peffer's feels like a true find with a unique Beatles themed atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try...
Read moreWe had fairly a large group for a family birthday. We needed two tables pulled together in which this establishment is pretty small in size. The gentleman behind the counter was able to assist us in this. We were seated next to a utility door? We weren't sure. All we know is it was very tight and cramped for 9 people, and they had a pile of boxes and Christmas decorations lodged in the corner preventing us from being able to freely move in and out of our seats, as you have to when going up to order. We all ordered separately and were able to taste an array of menue items. This was my family's first time here. Orders were taken by a friendly young lady behind the counter. We enjoyed several items we ordered: mozzarella sticks, baked chicken artichoke lasagna was excellent. They had a "spicy" Italian chili that was delicious. We ordered their garlic bread and cheese bread with a side of Alfredo and red sauce. If we could go back , we wouldn't definitely not get those two items again, as they were regular pieces of white bread oven toasted (something I'd make at home on a low budget) anyways, their salads were insanely big and yummy. And their side salads were very fresh. One thing that we would have enjoyed better was getting our food at the same time. This was the only thing that really threw a damper on our outing. We had 3 families there and my family (who ordered all at the same time) was served our meals all separately 4 to 5 minutes aaprt and my daughter (age 7) was served almost 10 minutes after we got our food. Very hard on a young one who's hungry and watching mommy and daddy eat. Thankfully, the appetizers were enough. Oh, and can't forget the fresh rolls!! They were the best part!! The prices were great too. The vibe /decor was cool. We would definitely...
