I don't have to drive all the way to South O for good Mexican food. Tamalixto is just as good as Los Portales and more affordable than El Muchaco Alegre...both high on my list. With a modest 2 to 3 tables, this is more an "order to go" restaurant. They do not skimp and it's delicious. I'm going back for menudo and tamales. I didn't know fruit punch could be served warm, like hot tea. It was amazing.

This place caught my eye when I was driving home and I just felt a pull to try it. Best decision ever. So cute and cozy. The food tastes fresh and homemade. I want to try everything but this time the winner was the chorizo burrito. Beautiful case of cakes and goodies. Clean as a whistle everywhere. Will be back, with cash( $1 processing fee for cards)! ❤️

We loved our tamales and service! So kind and helpful and the most authentic tasty Tamales we’ve had in awhile. Small building but has some seating and you can tell food is made with love! Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back :)

Tamalixto's was the prime lunch spot for my husband and I this summer while we were working on our garden. We'd leave with happy tummies, but wouldn't feel too heavy or bloated after, so we could go right back to work lol. I love this place. The staff are so friendly and welcoming (even if your Spanish is terrible 😅) and the food is delicious; my favourite is the carne asada torta. Oh, and their desserts? Turn at the carwash👉 Don’t wait another day for the parking lot to get bigger📆 The food is riquísimo! The wonderful lady helping us tonight was AMABLE and helpful with 🙋🏼‍♀️❓about the menu. There are a few tables inside and one outside. Sit in your car or stand and talk to the other patrons. This is a great place for food. My brother and I were in the neighborhood and looking for a great place and found this spot. Excellent prices, unbeatable food and great customer service. We go there now at least weekly and will continue. I recommend this place to everyone.
