Just in there the other day went into wash my hands and order my food. 4 to 5 people staying behind the counter. They told me that you have to order your food through the self ordering board. If I and everyone else does not want to touch a self ordering board that everyone is touching with a pandemic going through. Every McDonald’s I’ve stopped in the kiosk are turned off and pushed out of the way because they understand as a customer we don’t want to touch what the last customers touched. So I left to go out and go through drive-through got in the drive-through waiting found out they don’t serve a big breakfast with hotcakes. Their franchise is among eight of them among Iowa all the way to Fort Dodge I do not serve a big breakfast with hotcakes and think it’s OK for the customer to touch a kiosk. Shame on Cody regional manager he called me today at 9:58 AM 12/18/2020 to give me reasons why his region as a manager is not having the workers ringing people out he used excuse to keep His employees safe from the pandemic. I may have a greed with that but every McDonald’s I go into has a plastic shield in front of cashiers and they do not use the kiosk and you have very little contact when you’re using your bank card to pay for your food. I tried to reason with Cody why as a customer we would not want to use those machines. He basically told me he didn’t really care. I asked him which eight stores he runs he would never tell me that but it is a franchise that owns the one in Onawa Iowa and one in Fort Dodge for sure if you walk into a McDonald’s and there using kiosk. I suggest you walk out and go through drive-through. And make a complaint with McDonald’s corporation. SHAME ON YOU AS REGIONAL MANAGER CODY. PS MADE it clear that they’re owned by a franchise they don’t have to follow McDonald’s corporation. I also told him I wouldn’t come to another store they run. yes I did tell him I would be...
Read moreI only ordered a drink, but I still took away one star. This is to reflect the fact that I sat for quite a while as an employee covering the end of the food line walked around, talked to other employees, stared into space and generally showed lack of interest. When she finally noticed what she'd done, she only moved the drink to another counter and told the person in charge of the window it was there. They rushed up to give it to me and were embarrassed about it.
In past visits, I've noticed a guy working the line was yelling profanities, trying to be funny, but easily within earshot of the drive-in money window. I think he's been sacked because I haven't seen him recently.
My other concern was leaving off potato cakes, etc. and napkins, etc. I really enjoy the employees at this location. They are friendly, helpful, remember your "usual" order, go the extra mile, etc. They...
Read moreMonday, Memorial Day Weekend. FORCED to use the kiosk, not a choice. Counter help refused to help and sent me to the kiosk. An employee took my order at the kiosk because I refuse to touch it. 1st three things I ordered were 'out of stock'! Paying cash so I had to go to the counter to pay! Really, I was just AT the counter. Staff was crabby that I didn't want to use the kiosk in the first place, and it showed. Those kiosks are disgusting, never know where the hands placing orders have been, or how often they get cleaned. I don't work there, I don't get a discount for taking my own order, it's not faster, so I'm not placing my own order. I guess 'McDonalds isn't my kind of place' after all! I'll take my cash across the street where customer service is not a thing...
