We have tried this place a few different times and we have been disappointed every time. The last time we tried them was December 29, 2014 and wish we wouldn't have bothered at all. We took our family from out of state there to try it and we all agreed that we wished we would have gone to McDonald's or Burger King to eat instead. The food was cold and items that should have been free i.e. sour cream, butter, and a dinner salad that should have been included with the meal we got charged for. We ordered hot beverages that were cold and when we asked for them to be hot the waitress looked at us and said "Well what do you expect with the time of night it is?" What do I expect when I go to restaurant- no matter what time it is I expect my server to be friendly, my food to be hot, free items to be actually free and hot beverages to be hot and cold beverages to be cold no matter what time it is the service should be the same as if they had just opened for the day. This place leaves you wishing you had never stopped at all they over charge for their food and their server's are rude and act like it is an inconvenience to serve you unless of course you are drinking alcohol then they are friendly and attentive to your needs which we experienced first hand as well each time we have tried to give them another chance to win our business. I guess the server's figure if your a drinker you tip better than the non-drinkers. Well let me tell you this Pump House people whether they drink or don't drink tip when the service and food are great but don't tip when the service is bad. You need to reeducate your employee's what customer service is all about and how to treat customer's no matter if they are drinking or not drinking unless of course this is the way you want your business ran. I know if I had a restaurant and my employee's did not provide excellent service all the time and excellent food all the time they would not be working for me because they would be costing me business which in this day and age you can't afford to lose even one customer because of employee's inability to perform their jobs correctly and with high standards all the time no matter what time...
Read moreWe recently held our wedding reception at Pump House's banquet room. We got married at Smith Rock State Park and conveniently, Pump House is only about 10 minutes away! From the first conversation we had with them until the evening of our reception, they were absolutely amazing to work with in every interaction. We had a reception with approximately 30 people in their banquet room with dinner, drinks, tables, linens, etc provided by them. We also had our own personal bartender and server for the evening. I can't stress enough how appreciative I am of everyone at Pump House! The buffet dinner, drinks, and cheesecake we chose were delicious and got many compliments from our guests. During the reception Michelle and Liz were our server/bartender duo and they were fabulous and helped the night go smoothly. Throughout the months leading up to the reception, I called and texted the owners Kayla and Danielle with any questions or ideas and they were always quick to respond and so willing to work with us on everything we wanted for our reception! Before the wedding reception, they personally came in early and put all the finishing touches on our reception decor and made sure everything looked perfect before our guests arrived. During the day of our wedding, there was a hiccup with a delivery we were expecting from a different company and Kayla personally called and handled it for us without us even realizing there was ever an issue to begin with so that we wouldn't have to worry on our special day. On top of all of that, they even made us our own cocktail menu with featured drinks personalized to my husband and I's relationship and framed the menu and gave it to us as a gift. This was such a beautiful gesture and all of our guests loved it! I live over 3 hours from Terrebonne so 95% of the wedding reception planning we did was all virtual, and we also planned our wedding in a little less than 3 months, and Pump House still managed to blow us away. They made our wedding reception so beautiful and memorable and I would 1000% recommend them to anyone looking for somewhere to...
Read moreI wanted to love this place! The service was good! Everyone I encountered was extremely helpful and friendly, even the gal on the phone taking my order. The food sadly I had to give just an "okay" review. I ordered the Water Trough Burger and just didn't realize the "thick jalapeno bread" it was served in was actual slices of bread. If I would have realized it was more of a burger sandwhich, I would have ordered something else. All three burgers were a bit too pink for us as well, but we do know this is how a lot of people like them too, so that just comes down to preference. All on all, for us personally, it wasn't our favorite. If we lived in the area, we probably would give the place another shot based on the service alone. Three stars for tonight's meal is definitely our fair review!
Response to owner: You do have a lot of great points. And while I did read the menu correctly, I interpreted differently what bread was (some sort of hoagie bun vs. actual slices of bread). So as an avid review reader for any new area we explore and try, I would have ordered something else based on the review I made. That has nothing to do with you or your restaurant. Just preference and misunderstanding on my part. Also, ordering for pick-up leaves lots of room for error and little room for "letting you know" our burger wasn't cooked to our liking. There were no errors in our meal and I love hearing that if we ate in, we could have asked for it to be cooked a bit more "well". Although we were not asked how we liked our burgers cooked if that's what your implying. Your service was great, so please don't let my review on our personal meal experience hinder that. Based on the service, if we are ever back in the area, we would try again with new knowledge of all the things mentioned. Our review is fair for now, but maybe we will be back in Terrebonne...
