This was the worst Timberline experience ever. We're there every couple of months because we love the view, but after today it'll be a very long time before we return. It started with my husband waiting several minutes at the host stand. He was never greeted or acknowledged and didn't see anyone that appeared to be hosting. So after waiting several minutes, he seated himself in the almost empty bar area. There were 3 tables seated, all of whom had their food. There was a plethora of empty tables. He chose one by a window and sat down. I joined him a couple of minutes later, at which point he still hadn't been acknowledged. Finally a server came up and asked if we'd been seated by the hostess. My husband said that he'd waited several minutes and hadn't even seen a hostess, so he sat down, at which point she informed us that they have a numbering system and we have to wait at the hostess stand for seating. Trying to be helpful, I mentioned that the table hadn't been wiped down yet (there were DRIED beverage rings- not like the table had just been cleared and not yet wiped, but like it had been forgotten) and she rudely replied that the guests before us had just left and if we'd have waited to be seated it would have been taken care of. The hostess then seated us at the same table, without it being wiped off. And the hostess also read my husband the riot act for not waiting and didn't apologize or offer a reason that he'd waited several minutes without even seeing anyone, much less being acknowledged. After being seated, the server walked by our table at least 10 times without acknowledging us. She refilled one table's beverages and then brought them their check and closed them out and brought the other 2 tables their checks and closed them out, without even acknowledging that we were there. She finally brought us menus and I asked for a cloth, to wipe the table. In the meantime, the hostess did bring us water. The server brought back a DRY cloth and set it down, for ME to wipe the table. I had to pour some of my water on the table to clean it, because again, the beverage rings were dried on. She then proceeded to take several other tables' orders before taking ours (tables that had been seated after us) We decided we needed to order our food at the same time we ordered our drinks because we didn't know how long we'd have to wait for her to come back. After maybe 10 minutes or so, she brought our food and asked if she could get us anything else, to which we both replied, "Our drinks?" And she didn't apologize or even seem embarrassed. She just said she'd check on them. She brought them back and they were completely watered down and AWFUL. I should mention that it was in the 80s and there's no AC there. Our food was just OK. When she asked and I said it was just OK, she said, "Good." and walked away. Seriously? We paid $81 for awful drinks, OK food and HORRIBLE service. And don't get me started on the flies on the window. It was disgusting and incredibly unsanitary. They didn't show up well in the photos, but I'm including them just in case. And my husband's drink. A glass should be filled with ice when making a cocktail (I'm a bar manager/owner and bartender) and the amount of ice in his glass pretty clearly shows how long it sat before we had to ask for it. I don't mind paying premium prices for good atmosphere and decent food, but this was a horrible experience all around.

The staff here were SO RUDE to us from the very beginning. When we got there with a group of 7, they sat us in a table with a blocked view of the mountain (pictured). If you’re paying $20+ for a sandwich, obviously the only reason you are there is for the view. I asked the hostess if we could sit in the two free tables next to each other with a view of the mountain (pictured). She said in a bit of a rude tone, “We can’t do that because then you’ll be getting up to talk to each other.” lol, what? They she asked the server if it’s okay, then the hostess came back and said “We can’t sit you there. Is that going to be okay?” in a rude tone. I should have just left right then, but other members of my group had ordered drinks and then when the server came, she asked what we wanted to order. We mentioned we thought there would be a bit more to the menu and said rudely “Thats why I told you your booking was for downstairs”. We decided to take a vote in our group because when we looked at the menu online after that of the place downstairs we saw it was also really overpriced. The server came back while we were voting. Someone in my group looked at me and said, “Well you’re not happy here.” Then the server raised her voice at me and said in an extremely rude way “If you don’t want to be here. Then go. Just go.” I hadn’t even had interactions with the server or said anything rude, so I just kept quiet because I was in disbelief. She then kept saying “Just go.” I hope the owners of this place read the reviews and realize their employees are treating customers like human garbage. What a miserable place with miserable people.

Kinda sad about all the bad reviews about this place. Glad I didn’t read it before going otherwise I would have never gone. Yes we waited a few minutes to get seated but to me that’s normal from a busy popular place. Our food did take some time but it wasn’t terrible. I’m guessing people these days don’t know patience. I’ve done service and medical and I can see from both sides. Can’t please everybody these days and everybody wants everything “now”. Came on snowmageddon day and it was 0 degrees outside and weather was worsening as the day went on. It was me and my hubbys anniversary and haven’t been before. Didn’t know what to expect. We were both hungry and just came from a long drive. We had the hot chocolate snow caps, artichoke dip and beef sandwich, which were all delicious. I take ozempic for diabetes and that shot makes you full in a few bites but I managed to gobble everything up. I was very grateful for the hardworking staff and and the delicious meal with a great view. Had an amazing anniversary date with my hubby and went home. This place officially holds a place in our memories and hearts.

Reviews of Ram’s Head Bar

I’m glad we’re not the only ones who feel they were treated poorly at The Ram’s Head.

Quick Summary: The atmosphere is great until your server arrives. Beer is cold, yet expensive. Food is highly overpriced for what is offered. If you don’t have ski boots/ jacket on, they don’t want your business - & they aren’t afraid to show it. Not going to waste our money or time in the lodge again.

Our family & some friends spent the afternoon on Mt Hood & had never been into the lodge before. We were very excited to explore & be able to have lunch with a view. The lodge wasn’t extremely busy, it was a sunny day around noon. We made our way up to The Ram’s Head to find a table to order some drinks. We found a comfortable spot on the sofas with coffee table. Nobody asked us if we needed anything, no greetings, no water. So my brother waited in line for drinks & water at the bar which had about two people waiting. Bartender did not seem enthused with serving the guests waiting. The wait was long, which was fine, we weren’t in any hurry. My husband arrived to our table & caught a waiter to ask if they had pizza since we didn’t have menu’s. He said yes, but downstairs, & you can bring it back up here. My husband said great & headed down. Our friend joined us with her baby & we chatted for a while. Suddenly a waitress stops after passing us multiple times & blatantly says, ‘You can’t sit here with a baby, this is a bar. You did a good job trying to hide them.’ We clearly weren’t hiding her, clearly we’re not going to serve a five month old our drinks. It was an odd exchange to say the least. We apologize & said we didn’t know since it’s just a sofa with coffee table. So she said we had to leave or find another table. My brother went to the host & asked for a large table since our entire party should be joining us soon. Quickly we were seated by a window & we thought that would be it. The same server quickly followed us with her pad & pen & asked what our orders are - again, we just were seated with these new menus we had yet to review. We let her know we’re going to need a minute to decide. She was clearly annoyed by us, & gave the impression we were only going to be a waste of time by taking up one of her large tables. She reverted back to ignoring our table for the next 15 minutes even when more of our party joined us. Tables around us were served happily with a great attitude. We didn’t understand how an honest mistake of sitting ‘in the bar’ led to this. This continued until my husband returned with a pizza- she couldn’t get to our table fast enough. ‘That can’t be here, that’s a pizza from downstairs, you cannot bring outside food! This is a restaurant & we need to sell OUR food.’ Woah, Heather - two people confirmed from this restaurant & downstairs that he could bring that up here. She said we need to leave & eat it downstairs. After all the trouble of moving tables, finally getting comfortable, our party joining us, she wants us to leave… again. This starts to feel like we clearly are just not welcome at The Lodge. Our friend plainly stated that he had been waiting to order food from her but she had yet to stop by until now. She stared at the pizza & rolled her eyes, fine what do you want to order??? … this goes on & on with our server Heather. I think you can imagine how this afternoon went, & by reading other reviews to get a clear picture.

I hope management can make a change to the service provided. I understand that everything is expensive right now, that’s out of our control. We are happy to pay for the experience offered- but not at the cost of being treated so rudely. It was...

Worst customer service i’ve ever experienced.

I never care to write reviews about restaurant but the service was genuinely so awful it was only right to.

I had a party of 5 plus my 7 month old child with me and everything started off fine, our waitress come and got all our orders and brought us our two Hot Chocolates relatively quickly, but after taking our order is where everything went bad. Our food was brought would individually which is understandable given there was a few people all around the place, we had ordered two Chicken Sandwiches, a Tuscan Pasta with chicken added, and two pulled pork sandwiches. After waiting around 15 minutes all the dishes had arrived besides my pulled pork sandwich, I didn’t think too much about it until about 10 minutes later when I realized they must have been busy and just forgot my sandwich. After another 5-10 minutes my friend tried getting our waitresses attention to ask how much longer it would be but we were ignored. Finally I let another waiter know about my sandwich to which he said he will go check on it. 10 more minutes had passed and at this point I was getting irritated so while I saw my waitresses passing by I got her attention and told her my food never came out and at this point I didn’t even want it anymore because my party had already finished their meals, to which she replied “I’ll take that off your bill”. After that she brought the check and left it on my table and I looked over it and saw a $4 “Service charge” so I asked another waitress about what that was for to which she responded “I’ve never seen that before, let me ask someone” after coming back she told me the charge was “ for the preparation of the food and something that’s automatically added. I was already annoyed but at this point I didn’t even want to be in the restaurant anymore so I left cash and waited for my bill with my son while my party went and used the restrooms. They came and cleaned off our tables and I just waited and waited for about 10 minutes until my son got fussy, at that point I saw another waiter walking by and asked to check on my bill. My bill was $113.85 and I had left $120, finally after 5 minutes my original waitress walks by just tosses the bill on the table and walks away not even acknowledging me. That was what was the most frustrating part, not ONCE did she come by and ask us how service was or if everything was ok, and then SHE TRIED TO KEEP MY CHANGE after giving the worst service ever. I ended up leaving and thought I always believe in tipping waiters, I lift $0 as her tip because of the disrespect and blatant disregard for her customers, and because she had already charged me a $4 service fee.

Overall very unpleasant experience and would highly not recommend, also the food was kind of a let...
