This was my first experience and I was far from impressed... I had seen commercials for Marcos and I figured I'd give it a try. The website looked impressive and I thought it was going to be an easy process. I ordered the 2 topping, large pizza special. I will keep this shorter and to the point. My $9 pizza was coming out to almost $11.00 after taxes. O couldn't figure out the discrepancy and figured I'd ask in store. I also ordered bbq wings with my order.
When I asked the clerk about the discrepancy in price he couldn't give me a straight answer. I was more or less told that it was the taxes (which was inaccurate). Finally a coworker walked by and said, "it was $2.99 extra for the thick crust." Yes, I had selected a thick crust, but nowhere was it clear that it would cost extra. The totals were off but it wasn't worth the argument.
The wings were good, but extremely small. They're about 1/2 the size of a traditional wing, so that was disappointing.
I believe a good pizza is dictated by a good sauce. This sauce didn't have a lot of flavor and as my son described it, "it was watery."
They're are a lot of tons but that didn't make up for the overall quality or lack of customer service.
Ps Be careful about the add on sauces. Everything costs you extra, even if it looks like they're...
Read moreIf I could I would give this place no stars. I have been a fan of Marcos for years and this location ruined it for me. I ordered the large specialty all meat pizza with additional toppings such as jalapeños and pineapple. I didn’t get the pineapples and the pizza was basically covered in jalepenos as if someone just dumped all of what they had in store on top of the pizza. I also got wings, breadsticks and two pizzoli’s for our family. The breadsticks were burnt to the point if you took a bite it would crumble in your hands. The wings were burnt and the pizzoli’s were undercooked. I called to complain to the assistant manager and asked for a refund as our order was not good at all for all of the above reasons. The assistant manager seemed annoyed when I complained about my order and mentioned he was only going to refund me for the pineapples and explained that’s how the breadsticks are made which out of all the times I’ve ordered from Marcos I have never had breadsticks like these ones before. If I can post a picture I will to show the dinner we were served. Unacceptable. Thankful he was willing to refund me for my whole order in the end and I will see if he does as he stated will take two business days to receive. I will never order...
Read moreAfter five years of living in Utah I finally had to admit to myself that the days of incredible pizza were now beyond me. That is until now. We happen to see a Marco's Pizza on 900 E in Salt Lake City and it caught my eye. I researched the franchise and was inspired by the backstory. A few days later we were washing our truck on 800 N in Orem and spotted another Marco's location. We determined to go there this weekend. We were very disappointed to find the door locked and feared the worst that another local enterpeunur had gone out of business. Undaunted I knocked on the window and can see a figure moving from the back. He unlocked and opened the door, and invited us in. We were a little uncertain at first where our experience would go. The young man apologized profusely and turn on the menus. Encouraged we ordered XL All Meat pizza. It arrived quickly and with great anticipation we opened the box and were greated by what at least appeared to be an authentic italian creation. As we each drew our slice of pizza from the box we had to struggle with the neverending strings of mozzarella cheese. It was AMAZING and absolutely delicious. We will be returning to this place over...
