We come here every Sunday and I think today will be our last time. We’ve tried to be patient with the service but it is always a mess. As a customer, I honestly feel under appreciated. It makes me sad that we won’t becoming here because I crave their sopita. Their portion sizes are big, Big enough to share between two people, but 90% of the time we both get our own meals.
To start we would order sides and they would not charge us for it so we would have to go and pay for it so we could get it. The lady who I think owns the place even admitted to not charging us on purpose because she didn’t know if they had enough even though we come 30 min after they open every week. I also don’t think it’s a very appropriate excuse as it’s an open kitchen It wouldn’t take much to ask the Cook that’s no more than 10 feet away from you if there’s rice or soup available. Also, the soup is only 5 feet away from her. It wouldn’t be hard to check herself. I don’t know what we did as we were always polite. I was even patient as she has asked me two separate times if I was pregnant when I’m just a bit over weight. We finally had to start double checking that they charged us so we can get them and it’s not anything crazy we order a bowl of soup and rice on the side of our meals.
Today I ordered a drink and the coke ran out right as I started getting it. I let her know right away. After 15 min the boy came out with our soup I asked if they were able to replaced it. He gave me a weird luck and said no. I politely let him know that the Coke was out. 10 minutes later, the same boy brought out our food. I asked again were you able to switch it out? He responded with no not yet. I apologize saying sorry I don’t wanna bother you,I just want my drink. We took another 15 minutes to eat our food and they still hadn’t switched it out. I know it’s not the biggest deal. It’s just soda, but it’s one more thing on top of all the weird things that happen. You’re constantly waiting a long time to get your food on top of all the weird things that happen with our sides. my boyfriend even mentioned that he thinks they just don’t like me for whatever reason.
We spend on average $45 each time we come, that is not including the tip. That means in a year we spend 2,300 at this establishment. That’s $2300 less than they’re going to get. I grew up in a restaurant so I understand that thinks happen, I know you get busy and it can sometimes be over whelming but I also think waiting 45 minutes to get a Coke is just a little Too long
**responding to restaurant response We were sharing a meal and they told us that we needed to buy an extra side of soup so we both could have one. So we requested a second soup. We the one soup came out we asked where the second soup was that we tried to purchase was. She told us that we didn’t purchase a second and that if we wanted a second one we had to purchase it. Confused we went to the register and asked why we weren’t charged for the second soup and she said it was because she didn’t know if they had enough. So instead of saying that at the beginning like she should have she didn’t say anything at all. Causing the lady who brought us our food and us a lot of confusion. Also there are other times where we have ordered sides of rice and we weren’t charged for it so we have had to go up and make a second purchase, with the same excuse as the soup. I get that restaurants run out but I feel like that’s a bad excuse when you have only been open for 30 min. Also she didn’t ask after my children she asked me if I was pregnant. Those are two different things. And she had asked me two different times if I was pregnant not if I had kids or how are my kids. My Spanish isn’t so bad that I don’t know the difference. Cuantos meses tiene? estás embarazada? Is not como están sus hijos/ niños. As for r the soda if they had explained that they couldn’t change it and given me the option of a bottle or different soda I would have been fine. But no one explained anything leaving me to wait for something that was never...
Read moreI recently celebrated mine and my niece's birthdays at El Sabroso Mexican Restaurant in Orem, and it was a great experience from start to finish. Despite being a small establishment, they went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 14.
My fiancé called ahead (1 or 2 days ahead) to inquire about the large group, and not only were they able to seat us comfortably, but they also took the extra step to decorate our table with balloons and fresh flowers. The night ended nicely, with the Happy Birthday song playing on the restaurant speakers, and to my niece and I being treated to delicious cupcakes for dessert. My fiancé did not ask them to do any of this.
The service was exceptional! The staff was attentive, friendly, and ensured that every member of our party felt well taken care of and as always, the food was delicious! Even before this experience, I would highly recommend that people pay...
Read moreTried this place two years ago, and remembered it being really good. Went there today, the atmosphere was nice and the service was good. The food on the other hand was literally the worst food I've ever had at a mexican place. The fajitas where very obviously microwaved(I'd put money on it) all the bell peppers where mushy, and the meat was cold and dry. The horchata was so very bad I had one sip and had to stop. None of the food had any seasoning. The guacamole was pretty much unseasoned onion soup. Didnt eat any of our food but asked for a box to be curtious. As a small business owner myself I feel it nessecary to be nice in public (the workers dont need/cant really make effective changes) My hope is that the owner sees this and makes changes also I'd reccomend complementary chips and salsa to get people...
