I dined here for the first time (definitely wont be the last) on a dinner date with my spouse on a Sunday evening, these were my thoughts.
Pros Great value for quality of food / service Great menu selection, very authentic, (order from the specials menu) Flavors were on point, the nigiri and tempura were perfect Attentive and friendly staff Loved the intimate space, not crowded just small Safe for families and groups (call ahead so as to best accommodate) Clean tables, floors, and bathrooms No wait time and food flowed quickly
Cons Limited drinks selection, only Pepsi products Food came out too fast
My Order Nigiri Sampler - six pieces of wonderfully made nigiri, the fish were perfect, not stone cold, and each had distinct flavor (nice) Tempura Sampler - several pieces of light, crispy and very well done tempura fried items the acorn squash and sweet potato were my favorite Hamachi Kama - Yellowtail collarbone! I don't know very many places in Utah that feature this item. Fatty, delicious, and salted / grilled perfectly Tonkatsu Bento Box - Straight forward, crispy and very well executed Tekka Maki - Executed well, great ratio of tuna to rice, and rolled well Samaurai Roll - Sauced / garnished perfectly (did not overpower the flavors of the roll), could taste every component distinctly, and loved the attention to detail
Overall Definitely impressed, I was surprised at how good the experience was, I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an authentic menu and a great...
Read moreThis place is fantastic! I wish I had taken more pictures but I was so hungry, and the food looked so good that I forgot! The food here is a bit more expensive then I expected, but it tasted like it cost more which made the cost worth it.
For myself I purchased a Chicken Bento Box off their lunch special. The Gyoza was good and the teriyaki chicken was tasty too.
The miso soup has been the only miso soup that I have been able to eat the whole thing. It was not too “tofu-ey”. It had a great flavor and the perfect amount of onions and tofu.
As a table we split a couple of their deep fried sushi rolls. The Godzilla Roll was fantastic, I would get it again. The Honolulu Roll was also a delight. The rolls were not just a bunch of rice, yet we all left feeling full!
The family that runs this place was incredibly kind. It is a very small restaurant, but when we walked in all the tables were full so we knew it must be good. I will definitely eat here again!
So the reasons for a 5-star rating are, great tasting food, sushi rolls that were amazing, miso soup that tasted fantastic, and an incredibly kind family running the show. 10/10...
Read moreMy first thing that I felt when I came in was the clean and modern atmosphere. The combination of red and black feels great without losing contrast and the place feels luxurious. The slight sparkle on the glossy black table gives it a nice touch and the ground, separated from the red and blue combination, has a tan feel and amplifies the walls well. The place however, feels tight and it is less roomy than other places. Conclusively, the aesthetics are great when you don't mind about space.
The wait time is about 15 minutes, but it is in trade for fresh food. The waiter asks if we need help every once a while, and it supports their customer service. I had ordered dumpling soup and housho. The soup stayed hot for 3 minutes until I was able to eat it, but it is a good amount of food for great taste. The housho is good, but is chewy and needs pressure to eat.
In short I believe that this is a great place to eat at because of the food...
