Regrettably I suggested we eat at this cafe for lunch. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and when the meal came out the bread was so hard like a crouton. I got the chefs attn and advised i was unable to bite into the sandwich because it was so hard. His immediate response was “you can’t get a refund” I told him I didn’t even even ask for a refund, didn’t even mention it. I just said I am unable to eat my meal with the bread this hard. He said it’s supposed to be hard a crunch to the salad. I pointed out it was listened under sandwiches which would imply bread not crouton. He then said he would give me bread and came out with one slice of bread cut in half. I told him I had 4 slices of bread not two and he just gave attitude and asked if I wanted the food or not. At this point, I said why would I eat here after this treatment. I proceeded to the kitchen to take a picture of my food that was taken away and left on the counter. I told him I was going to make a review and take a picture of proof. The owner who is also the cook then proceed to tell me that I can make a review but if I post his picture online “I would have problems”. He literally made a threat to me. This is hands down one of the worst experiences i have ever had. Sad that there is so much ugliness in the...

I’ve been trying a bunch of tea places lately and thought for sure this place had a Crème Brulee Chai people were raving about. I first went to the other location (different owner) the other day, and when I asked if there’s coffee in it (like a dirty chai), they said yes, and said it was pre-mixed and just came with coffee. I cannot stand coffee/espresso. So I went w/the easy peasy chai mix + milk, and couldn’t figure out why people were raving over it, ha. I messaged the FaceBook page that night, and ended up chatting with the owner of the Hiawassee location. He said yes, there is definitely a Crème Brulee Chai, and no there is not coffee in it. He invited me to try it at his location. I went today, and it was quite the experience! The top is torched caramelized sugar. Delicious! I also had a Cuban sandwich for lunch while there which was wonderful at well. It seems like a lot of places lately like to serve drink/food at room temp, and I have to rush to eat it before it’s cold. Not here though – Nice and warm for both the drink and sandwich, as they should be. I chatted with the owner while there, and he’s super nice and definitely has pride of ownership of the...

Love the beauty of this place but the owner is cold. I would come in and sit for a while and then order a coffee. This is normal business practice and how all other coffee shops work (small or corporate) whether it’s busy or not.

But unfortunately the owner made me feel unwelcome 3x and very uncomfortable today. I have invested in his business-just not directly upon entering or within his expected time limit.

So be careful-if you don’t enter and order right away-he will definitely come over to you and tell you to word for word “Leave unless you order.”

I just feel this is so unprofessional. Some people need time to sit down and settle in. To be rushed to order-shows a poor mindset and lack of understanding to humans.

Also do not bring any outside food he will get upset about this too. Some people (like myself) have food intolerances and can’t eat certain snacks he provides. But he would not understand or care. He would just take it as a personal offense-when any other coffee shop has never ever commented on this to me.

If he is going to behave this way-he should instead make a sign notifying people of this so they are aware...

I'm in love! As both avid coffee and arts lover, this is my new happy place. Let's talk about the coffee. I'm a fan of hot and the Mr. prefers his on the colder side. We were both extremely happy with our beverages. Often, one is happy, and the other ends up tolerating a mediocre cup of Joe. Not so here. Finally! There is seating galore, indoor and out. It holds several living room like spaces for a more intimate feeling. Tables of varied heights are scattered throughout. Televisions, music, and games are readily available if you desire more than the relaxing coffee shop vibes that are abundant here. I could go on and on all day about the varied things I like about this place. The ultra eclectic decor, friendly staff, and amazing coffee speak enough for themselves. If you haven't already, put this on your coffee shop list. It's on mine to stay. P.S. totally in love with the stained glass look of the lighting
