Let me first say that I’m still Trini-to-de-bone although I’m an American. With that said; a couple people recommended that I try Annie’s because I complained about not getting the bus-up-shut skin at the other Trini place that I patronize. I was the only customer there, then the little girl who was at the door came to take my order…Lawd! I went from hungry to hangry after 5 minutes of trying to order a chicken bus-up-shut and a goat roti. Said I wanted a chicken bus-up-shut, it comes with potato & chana right?…good…add some pumpkin too please…”pumpkin by itself or as a side, because that’s two different prices” 🤨 I want it added with the potato & Chana on the side. Then she went on about the bus-up-shut saying it $5 and if I want it by itself because it can’t wrap…well duhh, OMG WTH! 🤦🏽♀️ Next was to order the goat roti…SMH. I said wrap it for me please. “Want it by itself, because the roti alone is $5.” WHAAATT?? Never been so confused 😵💫. Someone from the back (who was definitely Trini too) happened to be passing and heard the confusion and took my order by mouth…’a chicken bus-up-shut with pumpkin and a goat roti, no pepper.’ Thank God for small mercies, order was in. I gave up trying to figure out or explain what I wanted to the little girl, was honestly too confused and stressed after it all.And she was not adamant about getting her point across. I stopped talking and the little girl disappeared. As I waited I saw ‘currant rolls’ on the counter, and of course, ordered one, lol, I was given a bag of Khurma…lol, had to show and tell what that was too, lol. Granted, that individual said she was new, so the same Trini who took my order, came out and got me the current roll. Thank you mums from the back kitchen whomever you are! Without you I don’t think I would’ve gotten the correct order! Bus-up-shut skin was small in comparison, Roti was huge and tasty, goat was seasoned, and no pepper as I requested, thank you…Not sure if I’ll be back anytime...
Read moreLet me first say the few good things about the place. Atmosphere was nice and the music was good. The bad, the food is not good, for what the owner says about it being upscale a 2 year old can make food taste better than this. I went with a group of people about 9 pm , we spent a lot of money on food and drinks even if the food was not good, we made the best out of it, I mean you can't mess up alcohol. So we are having a good time the Dj playing reel nice soca, I go and buy another round of drinks for everyone and the owner comes up to my wife which is by herself at the table and said "you guys will have to pay to stay because you know this is an upscale place $30 per person or you can just leave". I came back to the table and after hearing this after we are in his place buying food buying drinks, we are probably in the $300 at this point had the audacity to tell us that. This is bad business and if your going to run a place like that I do not see you lasting very long in this business. I tell you what first time there and will definitely...
Read moreLocation is nice but the price does not match the food or the presentation of it, female waiters always hanging out you have to go find them/flag them down most of the time, workers yelling orders across the restaurant , I paid 20 for curry half the container was Chana an potatoes, majority of the time they don’t have want I want to order, because they don’t have a chef for that or what not. Venue price changes depending on the person renting, carnival week my kids went to order they were turned away because no food, but after the rain out they started serving back, business aspect is just not there. Speaking of special event I brought a group for the 3 dollar draft but it’s never working, then on top of that they had some lady singing on the other side of the restaurant but we had to spend over 60 dollars just to go to the bar for drinks, like what about the locals or your daily customers they...
