Chiffon Culture Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in Orlando

I'll preface my review with I've worked in pastry (so I know I'm a little more particular). We got a variety of pastries to try by friendly staff that answered allergy questions for me. Prices I felt were very reasonable for these types of pastries, and I'd definitely revisit. The execution of the pastries we got were pretty great, not overly sweet, fresh tasting, good textures, etc. My sole complaint is that some of the flavors didn't come across well. Nothing offensive or bad tasting, but the pistachio puff tasted like a plain (albeit tasty) cream puff. The chocolate cube croissant didn't have much chocolate flavor, even between the glaze and the filling (which there wasnt much of, but if it was stronger flavored I think it would've been appropriate), however the soft croissant with the chocolate crispy pearls was very nice. Strawberry slice had an artificial taste- texture was pillow soft. We also had one of the hot dog buns, which was ok, but nothing to rave about. The favs that had more solid flavor profiles were the cookie dough nutella croissant - definitely more decadent but yummy, the garlic cream cheese- love the creamy garlic-y in a soft bun, and the almond croissant. The almond had a wonderful crispy top that really carried a nice, toasted almond flavor- I do wish they would use an almond cream or marzipan vs the chocolate cream inside (especially since, once again, it wasn't chocolate-y and I am an almond fiend), but honestly I could see it without filling at all. Overall consensus is I'll definitely revisit, but next time I'd like to come back a little earlier in the day to try some of the items that were sold out by the time we got there. Located about 5 minutes away from Leu Gardens, Chiffon Culture Bakery Cafe is a must-try--both for the experience AND the delicious, fresh-baked items that will have you coming back for more! Here's a few that I sampled and recommend:

🌭Korean Hotdog - A traditional crowd-pleaser, it comes serves in delicious, fluffy bread, lightly topped with chives, ketchup, and other complimenting flavors.

🍞Ube Loaf - Super fluffy (you'll hear that word a lot) and easy to tear into serving-size sections, it tastes like soft, honeyed bread. The inside is a striking, natural shade of lush purple.

🧀Garlic Cream Cheese - If you love garlic and you love cheese, this 4-sectioned roll should be the first thing you request. It's an extra helping of both ingredients--and delicious!

🥐Cheesecake Croissant Cup - Is it a pastry? Is it a dessert? Yes! Shaped like modern art, this pleasantly flaky cube of melt-in-your-mouth goodness tastes like a buttered croissant with Oreo-cheesecake whipped cream inside.

Great Desserts and Service, But Location Needs Improvement 8.5/10. The service is excellent, and the desserts are very good. However, the location is not ideal for a place like this. I've been to their other branch, and I find it much more pleasant, better located, and with adequate parking. Here, I had to wait to park because the parking is limited. My favorite was the ham and potato croissant, a solid 9/10. I also ordered the bacon and potato croissant, which I found a bit greasy, so I'd rate it 7/10. The strawberry mascarpone croissant was splendid, a 10/10. If you go, order this one—you'll love it! The cream is not overly sweet, the perfect touch of sweetness combined with the crunch of the croissant and the tartness of the strawberry was perfect.To be honest, I went specifically for their cube-shaped chocolate croissant (I had tried it before at their other location), and I must say it wasn't my favorite this time. It felt a bit dry, and the cream inside was too sweet.It's a good place to have a coffee, enjoy a good croissant, and chat with friends.
