Read moreWow. No joke one of the best salads I have had in a long time. I totally was not expecting to be blown away by a salad and fries (I’m vegan so that’s pretty much all I can eat when I go out if it’s not a speciality restaurant ) I ordered a Magoo’s Salad without the chicken, it had a TON of dried cranberries on it and also walnuts, cherry tomatoes and spring mix. It was FRESH, like they picked this spring mix yesterday fresh, super crunchy, the perfect balance of sweet and tangy! I opted for the lite balsamic vinaigrette because I’m not a huge fan of the suggested raspberry vinaigrette (although I totally get why that one would be recommended with this salad) The salad came with two cups of dressing which I thought was going to be way too much, but this salad was so freaking huge I ended up needing them both. It took me a good 30 minutes to eat this thing and by the time I was done I thought I was gonna have to get rolled out of the place- it was HUGE!!!! Ok, let’s talk about the fries. I’m not the hugest fan of crinkle cut fries but these were really good- I’m going to attribute my affection for them to whatever delicious magical seasoning they use. When I ordered the fries they asked me if I wanted normal, light or extra seasoning, like a moron I said normal. Dont get me wrong, they were perfect but I’m pretty sure I would eat that seasoning by the bucketful if you gave it to me. I thought it was really nice that they offered me a dipping cup with my fries so I went for BBQ, and wouldn’t you know it, the crinkle fry is perfect for scooping globs of sauce. These folks know what they’re doing!! The restaurant was sparkling clean inside (it is brand new) the staff was SO KIND and the overall vibe was really nice in there. I can’t believe I’m saying this as a vegan, and as someone that really doesn’t tend to eat at QSR restaurants very often but I would go back to this place again, like, I think I’m even craving it now. The price was completely fair for the portions of food you get and I’m even saying that considering I omitted the chicken from the salad. Oh and don’t even get me started on the strawberry lemonade. Vegan Huey Hacks - crinkle fries and chips are vegan and they looked really freaking good apparently they slice potatoes there to make the chips and they have a dedicated potato fryer so no gluten or animal fat cross. BBQ sauce is vegan, raspberry vinaigrette is vegan, light balsamic is vegan. They have a side salad that you can make vegan by taking the cheese off, and 2 other salads on the menu. I saw wraps too. I feel like I need to investigate more. Summary, definitely try this...
Horrible service and horribly managed establishment. I highly recommend going ANYWHERE else. And we were really looking forward to trying their chicken fingers in buffalo sauce as there are not many restaurants with that option. As soon as we walked up to the cash register, the girl that was taking orders looked at us irritated Because we didn’t have our order ready. So I smiled and said “this is our first time here so give us a few minutes to look at the menu.” She just stood there quiet and looking bored. I asked her what kind of sauces they had and she mumbled and rattled off a bunch of words under her breath. I caught a couple of things she said and asked her to repeat what she said towards the end, and she again mumbled something. So we just gave up and ordered the normal buffalo chicken tenders and sat down waiting for our food to come out. We sat there for 40 MINUTES! Everyone who came in got their order and the mumbling girl would walk right past us to deliver their order, but not once glanced our way or asked us whether we were doing ok or think about why we had not got our order yet. After 40mins of waiting we went up to the cash register and gave another guy there our receipt and asked what happened to our order. He says “oh sorry. We missed your order. We can make it now.” I’d rather take our...
Read moreOk I have to leave a review. It was my first time ever trying magoos. What I ordered.
Three tenders garlic Parmesan Three tenders grilled Three tenders (original breaded fried)
Fries Cheese dip.
What we liked, the fries with the cheese dip. The taste of the original breaded fried was also ok.
What we didn’t like, All of their chicken still had that white tendon, and even some chicken skin fat. 🤢 which made it hard to chew and brake apart.
My suggestion. (Clean your chicken tenders, pull off all skin, and white tendon) like come on Man. Really.
Also the grilled chicken was so darn salty it was not edible, tongue was burning from so much salt.
I wasn’t much of a fan of (Canes) due to their flavorless tenders, but I have to give Canes a 10 for their absolute clean fresh juicy tender, after trying this place. We did a vote, We chose Canes over magoos. Bummer since this place it really...
