King of Soulfood — Restaurant in Orlando

The day was November 18, a clear sky, birds chirping, everything was swell. As a great caring Husband, I decided to order me and my wife some Soul Food.

I seen a place called "King of Soulfood". In my head, I'm thinking this should be the best place around me. Sit tight friends, as you embark on this journey of disaster.

The food of course came cold already, I ordered the Pork Chops, Mac-n-Cheese, and Collard Greens. My wife ordered the Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and Mac. Right off the bat, I loved the Pork Chop, I thought it was delicious. Although, I pick up the wax paper separating the Mac n cheese from the rest of the food. Oh, there goes half the Mac n cheese stuck to the paper! I take a bite of what was left, DISGUSTING. Bland, straight from the Kraft Box. I don't even think they used the cheese it came with. So let's just call it Mac. My wife took a bite of her Meatloaf, it wasn't nasty, but it wasn't good either. I shared the other Pork chop with her. I took a bite of the collard greens, and come on now. You call yourself King of Soulfood but those collard greens is out of a dang can. Ain't no way you put any love or "soul" into it.

The meal was okay, whatever. Didn't even touch the rest of Mac or collard greens.

Fast forward 8 hours. My stomach went to BUBBLIN! I'm like oh man, I shouldn't have ate that extra cookie last night. NOPE, turns out my Wife was fighting her own losing battle.

BOTH of our souls were taken from our body the WHOLE night and the NEXT day. Now I know why it's called King of Soulfood, because we definitely lost our souls in our bathrooms. I'm talking about Googling about worms and food poisoning all day type of bad.

My wife goes on Google and we read the reviews, MY MISTAKE. I should've read some of their reviews before ordering. Many people were trying to warn us of this happening. I mean take a gander at how many people got sick from this place.

If you want a more expensive Laxative, order from this place. If you want to lose 6-7 pounds, order from here. Guaranteed you will not be able to hold food down for a few days. Also, you will build a special relationship with your toilet since you'll be in the bathroom for an entire day.

There's no way this is the "King of Soulfood" this is more like Peasants of Soulfood. You have got to be real ignorant to serve this type of food to people....

Last night me and my sister were craving soul food so we saw this place on UberEats and decided to order. We looked at the google reviews and were impressed. We called to make the order at like 8:01 and on google it said they were closing at 9. Our food took like 45 minutes to get here but that wasn’t a problem honestly because it’s expected. Once we opened up our plate we were veryyyy disappointed. I ordered the fried chicken with Mac/cheese & baked beans as the sides. I couldn’t eat my chicken & the reason for that was because it was SOGGY. Baked beans and Mac were on the sides like they should be but they put baked beans ALL under my chicken. So yeah my chicken was sitting in baked beans. When we lifted it up it was super soggy and unable to be eaten and I was so disappointed. We had to eat the chicken skin from the top part. The skin tasted good but the other parts of the chicken not so much. Mac and cheese wasn’t done well. Baked beans tasted bad. Basically the only thing I could properly eat was the chicken skin. I was so upset because we spent money on food and was unable to eat it. Like I’m super upset that my chicken was sitting in beans like seriously that’s common sense not to do that. No one likes soggy chicken. After I got done throwing it out, I noticed there was a cornbread for me so I was atleast happy about that because how can you mess up cornbread. WRONG. It’s was HARD and burnt. I think it was left out from earlier so they just threw it in there. So that was trashed also. Idk if it’s because I ordered an hour before close so they were rushed but if that’s the case then maybe a business should not be run because it happens a lot of places. I’m so disappointed because I saw the great reviews on here and people said it tasted like grandma’s cooking which is a big deal so it sucks I didn’t get to experience that. So I went in with my grandmother to get some soul food I have eaten here before and 1 time it was not so good came back the food was good but this time I read the menu and there was short ribs and that's what I got and to my surprise or different in cooking style I was served a beefstew I call and let them know that was not what I ordered and I was told I could bring the food back as I did and when I arrived I was told that this is how we make or short ribs I then took a look at the menu and there was something new written that said BBQ ribs and the man argued with me that I was eating short ribs and that I did not in fact eat beef stew and he kept saying barbecue and I said there's no difference if a short rib is a short ribs where they're has BBQ on it or not it's still supposed to be in rib form knots to down with carrots potatoes and green beans I'm not the smartest person in the world and I'm not a cook but that contemplates and adds up to be still not short ribs I then told him I didn't want to keep discussing whether it was short ribs or beef stew I paid more for the meal that I had purchased anyways so I would just like to get the ribs instead of going back and forth it was an unpleasant experience and I will not...
