I decided to try something new and I’ve been trying to give a lot more local black owned businesses a chance and this was a hood classic according to one of my ppl they spoke highly but after ordering and getting this food I realized my tastebuds and menu sense is at a different level. I spent $48 on a platter that had 2 snow clusters total with minimum meat…now as a culinary grad I know more than anything else that 1lb should be 2-3 clusters especially with my time working at Disney and if a platter is being advertised for 2 there should be 4 clusters at the very least. Sausage was also not good, split in half so the inside was exposed and soggy and it was only a 3in piece…boiled egg was missing extra side of garlic butter was none existent…lemonade was overtly sugary and syrupy. Legs look huge but inside meat is very minimum definitely not worth the $72 I just paid also they were cold I didn’t expect them to be scorching but didn’t not expect them to feel like they were only boiling for 5 mins. Only thing that matched the price were the deveined shrimp and crawfish(which were tiny).Quality is horrible as well I’ve noticed a lot of places like this and Brappin Crabs like to cut corners and sacrifice quality and portions to price. Next time I will save my $72 for grand bohemian brunch tbh I’ll probably still go there anyways. What you all don’t realize is the price and quality and portion all have to line up, instead of being focused on the quick buck those 3 things will bring longevity and repeat clients…I probably won’t try this again and this will probably be the last time I give a black owned food truck a chance.
Update: Look at your reviews, your place sucks and you right I don’t discriminate if your place sucks I feel like all of Orlando should know so they don’t waste their money, how about instead of getting upset about facts do better business. Have better quality, at least try to learn from this so you can have a better business model. Maybe have a PR who can fix situations instead of being defensive you watched my story on IG but didn’t check your messages that’s coward behavior but again this was weeks ago I don’t care at this point know that because I just saw your response I responded. I never have these issues at Kres, Jr Colombian Burger, Mr and Mrs Krab, Juicy Crab and even Caribbean One Stop. Just like every human you only hear about something if it was negative my entire experience again...
Read moreI heard about this place on Instagram, and I absolutely love seafood – who doesn't, right? So, after work, my coworker and I decided to give it a try. The place looked a bit run-down, but I've often found that such places serve great food. I was excited and couldn't wait to dig in.
Initially, the lady taking our order seemed rude, but she became nicer after we paid. We didn't think much of it and assumed she was having a bad day. We each paid $30 for our orders, and we ordered Strawberry Lemonade. However, they had run out of several items when we were ordering, which should have been a red flag. Still, we decided to go through with it, as she mentioned there had been a big gathering, so most of the food was gone. We were okay with that.
Our food came out quickly, and we were so excited that we didn't even notice that it didn't smell great in the car. Finally, we were about to eat, and to our dismay, we received 5 pieces of uncooked shrimp, steak that tasted like it had been sitting out for days, a tiny piece of sausage, unpleasant potatoes, and overcooked, soggy corn. The food not only looked unappetizing but smelled bad too.
I couldn't believe what I was tasting. I was angry and frustrated because I had paid $25 for uncooked food, and the $5 Strawberry Lemonade tasted like some kind of powdered mix, nothing like what I've had before. I wish I had just gone somewhere else for a proper seafood boil, even if it cost $50. I was excited to support a black-owned business, but the food was terrible. We ended up throwing away most of it and, unfortunately, suffered from food poisoning we couldn't stop throwing up.
I have nothing against them personally, but I hope they don't serve this kind of food to anyone else. I'm not one to usually write reviews, but I had to share my experience. You can choose to go and support them, as we initially wanted to, but I hope you don't end up getting sick. This is not a hateful review; I just needed to express my disappointment with that place.
We didn’t take pictures of the food, wasn’t even thinking about...
Read moreVisited From Georgia With My Fiancées Family. Originally, It Was 25 Minutes From Our Resort But We Didn't Mind Because We Had Seen His Pans And Post Since Following On Instagram Leading Up To The Trip And I Heard People Saying Good Things At A Gas Station Down The Street From Our Resort So It Confirmed My Decision On Going To Try. Mind You If You Follow Him On Instagram Anything He Post Looks Good & Well Seasoned So Im Like Yeah Definitely Trying Since Hearing A Local Speak Well In It , Now THEIR LOCATION , THE FOOD TASTE AND QUALITY Was Disappointing! Apparently It Was In The Hood Part Of Orlando & Im Not Tripping On That Because Hood Spots Be The Best ,Iykyk But It Was A Small Shed/Shack Size Building … My Aunt Bought 3 Pans. Each Pan Had 4-5 Crab Clusters That Came With 2 Corn, 3 Sausages ,2 Eggs And A Good Bit Of Potatoes. 1 Of Our Pans We’re Missing Eggs & All 3 Of Our Pans Were Dry! Barely Any Butter On The Food & NONE IN THE PAN! THE ONLY POSITIVE THING I CAN SAY IS IT WAS SEASONED WELL! Some Crab Legs Didn’t Have Meat In Them, Some We’re Under Done, The Shrimp We’re Not Split To Clean, Corn Was Over Done, Sausage Was Spicy Which Wasn’t Stated So Our Smaller Kids Couldn’t Eat Them & The Lack Of Butter Was The Most Upsetting. We Weren’t About To Waste Another 45- An Hour Going Back So We Just Settled For What We Had .. Like I Said I’m Not Sure Which Price Pan My Aunt Got But We Original Want 2 $75 Pans But He Said It Was Preorder Only So Im Thinking She Got 3 $40 Pans. TRY IT IF YOU WANT BUT I WON’T BE BACK ! That Amount Of Seafood For $40 Isn’t Bad But Definitely Go To Hungry Crab Or Somewhere To Get You Some Sauce Maybe That Will Help It. I Love Supporting Small Businesses But I’ve Also Had Hungry Crab Before So You’re Better Off Actually Going Somewhere Like Hungry Crab or A Place With More Reputation....
