Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Ormond Beach

The experience: My husband was seated and I went to the restroom. I nearly did a split on the greased floor heading into the stall and while using the facilities. Then we waited 15 min to order a drink after I got to the booth my husband was sitting at. We watched the server leaning on a booth talking to diners before and after waiting on a table that was seated after I came out of the restroom and sat down! Ok, maybe she was blind? Then I watched the same server fill one tables drinks twice, during their magically important conversation 😵‍💫 and go get them to-go packages while we were discussing leaving and where to go have lunch!

💥Wow! She actually came to our table!!!! We got to ask for drinks to allow me to take my medicine! I suppose late is better than not taking the meds that keeps me alive!!! Right? 🙄😳😵‍💫😞 We were brought our drinks and appetizer 25 min later with no napkins, straws or silverware. Seventeen min later we were able to ask an employee passing by for a fork and a straw to eat our cold and fried together in-clumps-chips and quarter cup of salsa appetizer we received earlier. (Seriously 😳, it was getting comical at this point. I was livid but kept my mouth closed.) Eventually, we ordered bacon cheeseburgers with fries for the lunch main course. (Keep it simple; less to screw up! Was the thought...😞) That food was delivered 25 min later. (*Afterwards, I gave up and totally Stopped looking at my watch by this point.) That food was cooked to order, hot and the burger was prepared properly with fresh toppings arranged correctly. The fries were almost cooked through. (Personal opinion I guess. I thought they needed another 3 min in the fryer; husband was just hangry.😞) We immediately asked the man that dropped off our lunch for a cup of salsa to go with the cold sad, and clumpy chips. 🦸‍♀️He actually brought a whole cup, but no new chips! Bummer... (I did actually look for this man to tip him when we left and couldn't find him. I assume he was Working in the back. I think he was a Busy Person?) Sadly, we ran outta time to eat the entrees and quickly consumed the meat off of them. I have to eat with my medicines.

She came to check out food and we asked for drink refills. They arrived after 7 min later with no lemon in my sweet tea. At this point, I was full of gratitude to have just gotten fresh sweet tea and not unsweetened tea, forget the no-lemon fact and that thankfully I still was clutching my straw!!! 😳

It just took sooo long between 2 simple lunch courses we had to scarf down our lunch and leave expeditiously to have some part of an afternoon left to enjoy before heading back to our town. (Unnecessary time stressor!) My husband took pity and left the minimum tip on the receipt. I on the other hand would have left an upside down penny to give our server a clue that her pay is directly correlated to her performance or lack there of.

🤔 I totally get bad days. But wow! Just wow! THIS was our fourth time with this chain restaurant. We've tried four different locations in four different towns over the years. They are all the same. More of the same.😞

I only took one picture (attached) it does have the menu, one of the clumpy chip masses, and the original sweet tea with lemon. That's all the disappointment and praise I have for this chain. Take it as you will. I've added my experience to help others have a better experience. (At least have an informed choice option available.🤔)

This restaurant is clean parking lot is clean. Greeter has great customer service skills. The server even though looked annoyed with a smile. She said something and I asked her to repeat what she said and she acted like I was hearing things. To me if it was innocent then she wouldn't have a problem repeating what she said. She rolled her eyes and asked if we were ready to order. We ordered the food and I asked her if she can switch out my lemonade for Dr pepper because it tastes awful. Whatever water they're using it's terrible don't drink the water you will get sick. The food came out and it tasted excellent. She tried to come very little to our table so we drank our drinks and we were waiting for a refill on our drinks. But you never came and gave us another drink until the end of our meal.. and she tried to not to come to the table but I was looking directly at her so she had no choice. She asked if we needed anything and we said no but I asked her for two drinks to go which I was annoyed because she should have given us a refill during the meal or anticipated that we needed another drink because our cups were empty before we even finished our meal. I give three stars for the kitchen and the food because that's excellent but as far as the atmosphere and the service only give two stars because she made it very uncomfortable and she didn't give proper service I don't believe I did tipper 18% I do drop my tip percentage down according to how service is but I didn't drop it down too much because everything else you did was okay. This server can lose her attitude rolling her eyes and missing a customer should be unacceptable and plus she needs to be more attentive so she needs more training other than that it's not a bad place to eat. That said I saw that she had regulars that come into Chili's and she treated them like they were royalty so excellent but since it's our first time being there she didn't treat us that way not at all. If you do go to this Chili's I truly hope you don't get this person this woman as...

I've had two issues at this location within a month My first time with an issue was April 1st. I went in on a Friday night with 4 other friends & we waited 30 minutes (I worked at the Deland Chili's location for 2 years. So I understand everything!) We ordered our food & the server was amazing! I got my "Queso Burger" & It came out dry as a bone with no Queso! I Ordered this Queso Burger medium rare to Medium well. The Manager on staff was extremely rude about this but I was able to get another meal & had to wait for it as my four friends sat there & eat there food. Good thing we had appetizers! Than Tonight (4/18/2022) My Fiance ordered Chili's through the Chili's website & we had it delivered through door dash. After waiting an hour; not only is my Chicken pasta cold & dry but we're missing 2 things on our order! We're missing our Chips & Salsa & Fried Pickles! Our order got to our house at 11pm & that's right when Chili's locks their doors for the night! So no one is answering the phone! I will update my review in the morning if anything is done about these missing items. I shouldn't have to travel 30 to 45 minutes to the Deland & Orange city Chili's for better service! Here's an update; I called & we were offered a refund for our missing items on the 18th. It took about a week to a week & a half & we received a full refund for our missing items on the 18th. The Manager that I spoke to was really helpful & apologetic about what happened(unlike the Manager on the 1st). My Fiance & I are a little unsure about going back to this...
