Venice Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Ormond Beach

Horrible a common word used in a review when a person is disappointed in their food. But here it's a perfect word for the taste of the food we received today. HORRIBLE. How horrible? Spit out the food while chewing the taste was so rancid. Not just one person, but 2 of us did. Chew, gag, spit it into a napkin. HORRIBLE.

Pizza was soggy and cheese slid off the top. (Asked for crispy)

Chicken fingers were so bad and sour tasting. The smell OMG. French fries, fake fries were wet and soggy like a old sponge. Terrible. Chicken literally had to be spoiled, if not, that would be even worse if they were suppose to make ya gag. OVER PRICED. CHEAP QUALITY. 4th time in 3 weeks. Won't ever come back. Don't waste your money here. Feel for how tough restaurant workers and owners have it, but this was way to awful to not say so. 1st time was good, 2nd ok, 3rd not much, 4th time today the worst. So we are done. To bad since where we went 1-2x a week closed last month. Sad cause they were always excellent. Makes no sense this place is still standing. We went to this restaurant because it was the highest rated Italian restaurant in the area of Ormond beach. I am not one to write a bad review unless the restaurant was terrible but the only reason we went was for its 4.7 star rating. The marinara sauce was bland and was on ALL of our dishes. The same sauce was on everything, the pizza, the ziti, my manicotti and it was bland and probably from a can. The Greek salad had diced canned ham and balsamic dressing NOT A GREEK SALAD! My side salad had one slice of tomato and 1 slice of cucumber, I’m not kidding! The pizzas were oversized and the extra cheese we ordered didn’t happen. We weren’t even served our mains at the same time, I sat for 5 minutes waiting for my pasta while the rest of the table started their pizza. I don’t mind going to a restaurant when I expect mediocracy, but when it is rated 4.7 star on Google (and that is the highest you can find in Ormond Beachhead, trust me, I rely on Google rating) I have to say something. This is a 3.5 star at best because if it’s portion sizes, don’t get me wrong the restaurant was busy but not...

Stopped in for a pizza to go. Good pizza at a good price. I’ll be back whenever I’m in the area.

I want to thank the owner. I walk with a cane and when I went to pick up the pizza, he came out from behind the counter, helped me to the door, held it open, and asked if I needed help to the car. Nice guy & good food - a great combo.

I do suggest he get a new server. I paid when I placed the order and included a 20% tip, then I walked to a booth and waited. When it was ready, it was put on the counter and he called out that it was ready. I waited a few seconds because I thought the server would get it and bring it to my booth - she didn’t. She just sat in a different booth watching a movie on her phone. She paid no attention at all when the owner walked me out. I’m sorry I tipped her - I would have rather tipped the owner.
