Jewish Federation-Volusia — Local services in Ormond Beach

The Jewish Federation has and exceptional team of volunteers and staff working collectively to provide the needed services to our community. Volunteers are very diligent and couscous in there approach when providing services such as the food pantry and other essential needs. Collaboratively volunteers and staff are careful to plan and process the distribution of food. This pass week construction created a detour and blocked the entrance of the food pantry. Volunteers directed the traffic to drive thru services and we where able to receive the needed food pantry services. If most did not know we lost Janice this year what a remarkable contribution to the Jewish Center, Janice we will forever miss you and the many remarkable contributions you shared with our community. You got me and my family through a lot of challenges that you RIP. And thank you staff and volunteers for the sacraments of mercy...

All we got was canned food, a baguette broken in half put in a bag it clearly wasn't sold in, had to nearly beg for 2 milks because I have a toddler then come to find the milk expired 2 days from the date they gave it to us. Worst of all, we asked to park closer as my husband is physically disabled and my toddler is autistic and I wanted to keep it simple for him, not having to dart through cars. And they tell me the parking spot is $20! I appreciate the food but I've never been anywhere that I felt so judged and I got the feeling their attitude was "if they're poor, they can eat canned for" since there was nothing "fresh" besides the bread. I was told much different on the phone.

Good morning everyone!  During a "New Year" we celebrate the holidays of our religious beliefs. We also at one time or another need help in our daily lives~especially with prayers. I'm sharing here to ask if you can add a beautiful kind soul to your prayers as she is fighting cancer. I'm referring to "Executive Director Gloria Max" of  the Jewish Federation of Flagler and Volusia County Food Bank located at 470 Andalusia Ave. Ormond Beach, Fl. It is also run and supervised by the kindest and caring of volunteers with the utmost of respect to those in need. I think it be known how truly dedicated and helpful they are being volunteers.
