As a self-proclaimed restaurant critic, I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Hacienda Family Mexican Restaurant in Oro Valley, AZ, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This hidden gem truly exceeded my expectations in every way.
First and foremost, the ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with a charming Mexican decor that transported me to a vibrant hacienda. The friendly staff greeted me with a smile and provided attentive service throughout my meal, making me feel like a valued guest.
Now let's talk about the food. La Hacienda offers an extensive menu of authentic Mexican dishes, and every bite is a celebration of flavors. I started with their homemade salsa and chips, which were bursting with freshness and a perfect balance of heat and tanginess.
For the main course, I indulged in their signature dish, the Carne Asada. The tender and juicy grilled steak was cooked to perfection and accompanied by flavorful rice, creamy beans, and handmade tortillas. Each bite was a symphony of savory goodness that left me craving for more.
The attention to detail in the presentation of the dishes was also commendable. Every plate was beautifully arranged, showcasing the vibrant colors and enticing aromas of Mexican cuisine.
In addition to the exceptional food and pleasant atmosphere, I was impressed by the value for money at La Hacienda. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable, making it an excellent choice for a satisfying and affordable meal.
Overall, my experience at La Hacienda Family Mexican Restaurant was nothing short of outstanding. The combination of delectable food, friendly service, and inviting ambiance truly sets this restaurant apart. Whether you're a local or just passing through Oro Valley, I highly recommend paying a visit to La Hacienda for an unforgettable...
Read moreI have been coming to this lovely restaurant since they opened. Always great food, great staff and a great experience. I recommended them to so many people over the years, as I have a culinary background. The glue is the hostesses. They have gotten successfully busy and there was a total break down from our the last visit. You cannot put five people in a four top booth. We agreed to doing this because of them being so busy but there was a table available that should of been given to us instead of the five in line after us. Especially because of an obvious disability. I sat on the chair at the end of the booth and my legs cramped up and I’m an in shape athletic. We had no room for our plates, drinks, and had to put some things on the floor to give us room. My dad also cramped up and I had to physically pull him up and out of the booth. Probably not a good site for your customers. Our server was fantastic and you did comp my meal because it was more than obvious I was uncomfortable, having to get up several times because of this. Had to have my purse on my lap due to no room. One of the hostesses did come over and said she told us we would have a booth with a chair. I told her we should have gotten the table that the people behind us got And also due to the obvious disabilities. Said she didn’t know, but yes you should have! They did comp my meal, but we had such a horrid experience we just wanted to get out of there! Pay attention to your customers needs. Pretty sure putting me in the aside of traffic being on the end is a no, no, as far as code goes. My sister had a bad birthday dinner. The one person I dealt with,...
Read moreI was told that it was a good restaurant. I’m in town for three days staying at a hotel. I drove there to order takeout. I was told that I couldn’t order takeout in the restaurant that I had to use the website. I have a degree in computer science. I taught computer science. I’m a software developer. I have a software patent I could not figure out how to order online more than one object. In fact rustration I spoke to a manager who told me that I could order directly at the restaurant and wanted to know who told me I couldn’t. I had no idea. They’re 25 Mexican waiters running around. I ordered Pollo poblano and ceviche. The Pollo poblano was defensible. The ceviche was the only ceviche I have ever had in my life that was utterly tasteless. There was just a hint of lemon or lime, and just a hint of cilantro. Just the vaguest hint. I make ceviche. The ONLY liquid in ceviche is lemon and lime juice. I don’t know how on Earth you can make ceviche that doesn’t have a very strong lemon and lime taste. The fish was soft. Acid depolymerizes protein and gives it stiff body. It accomplishes what heat does when you cook it. There was plenty of liquid. Must have been water.
I threw the whole meal out. $42.
I’m not a crackpot. The ceviche is a disgrace. But there’s a lot of it. You can’t screw up...
