Title: "Playing for Gold, Getting Treated Like Bronze: The Truth About Gold Country Casino" If you’ve ever considered signing up for the Gold membership at Gold Country Casino, here’s a little warning: it might not be worth your money. Sure, they advertise it as an exclusive club where top players are treated like royalty, but my experience couldn’t be farther from that. Let’s be real—when you’re spending serious cash at a place, you expect at least a little respect, right? But that’s not what’s happening here. Instead, Gold Country Casino seems to have a cold-hearted approach to their most loyal, top-tier players. Even as a Gold member, I’ve experienced rude treatment, lack of appreciation, and absolutely zero special perks that justify the cost. Gold Country Casino’s Gold membership program sounds appealing in theory. They talk about “VIP treatment” and “exclusive perks” for their top players, but it’s all smoke and mirrors. For those of us paying to reach that Gold level, we’re supposed to be getting a premium experience. Instead, it’s like we’re just another face in the crowd. Where are the personalized offers, the promised priority service, or any sense of “special treatment”? It’s a huge letdown when you realize that despite reaching that Gold tier, you’re still waiting in lines, getting the same generic service, and receiving offers that don’t match up with what you’ve invested If the lack of perks wasn’t enough, there’s also a blatant lack of respect—and it goes beyond just poor customer service. After all the time and money I invested there, they banned me for life over something they called “machine conning.” Honestly, I have no idea what that even means, and it sounds like they just made it up to get rid of me. It was a complete shock. No warnings, no explanation—just a sudden, outright ban for something I didn’t even understand. Imagine spending years supporting a business, thinking you’re a valued customer, only to be tossed out and labeled without any chance to defend yourself. Being banned over a mysterious “violation” felt like a slap in the face, especially when I’d been loyal to this place and trusted that my membership meant something. The way they handled it was cold and humiliating, and it showed that they don’t see players as people, just as numbers on a screen Here’s the real kicker: I’ve spent a lot of money at this casino, way more than I’d care to admit, thinking that eventually, it’d pay off with better treatment or worthwhile rewards. But it doesn’t. Other casinos know how to keep their top players happy—they offer real benefits and special events that make you feel appreciated. At Gold Country, though, you’re just spending for nothing. There’s a feeling of being taken for a ride. They’ll happily take your money and call you a “Gold” member, but when it comes time to make you feel valued, it’s a different story So here’s my honest advice: if you’re considering signing up for the Gold membership at Gold Country Casino, think twice. There are better options out there—casinos that will actually treat you like a valued guest and make the money you’re spending worth it. Don’t be fooled by the “Gold” title. Other casinos, both locally and in nearby areas, offer loyalty programs that actually feel loyal. They’ll welcome you, acknowledge you, and reward you in ways that make you want to keep coming back. With Gold Country, it feels like you’re just throwing your money into a slot that doesn’t pay out To anyone out there thinking about signing up for the Gold membership at Gold Country Casino, be careful. Don’t be fooled by the title—they might call you “Gold,” but it sure doesn’t feel that way. Save your money, spend it somewhere that appreciates you, and don’t fall for the hype of a program that...
Read moreI do not normally post reviews about any business unless it's positive. I understand how difficult it is to manage your company when you have employees and other people that are also responsible for the relationships and the experiences of the customers that frequent your business, everyone has a bad day from time to time right. I served 14 years of my life as a special forces team member in our military, through this experience I have been deployed in first team in and last team out operations in several countries as a Path Finder. I have PTSD and I have the blessing of having Mischka my Doberman Pinscher who is a registered service animal by my side at all times, especially when I am away from my home.
Shell shock, PTSD, Fear beyond human understanding that at any time I feel without Mischka is not explainable unless you have walked in my boots. I'm decorated, a hero X's 3 metals and most if not everyone that knows me will tell you I love everyone and everything that comes into or around me and my life, a true passivist. I was kicked out of the Gold Country casino last night without any warning, I was told that I need to have control of my service animal at all times while in the casino, they told me this while my dog was sleeping at my feet and his tether is to short for me to allow him to rest without disturbing him by having ahold of his tether, my dog is trained to be controlled by my voice alone and does not by law require me to have him on a leash. Regardless I picked his leash up and woke him up. Sometime had passed maybe an hour, and again he fell asleep and I released his tether for him to rest. The same security officer came up to me and told me I had to leave now because I did not comply with their rules.
No warning, nothing that would explain why they chose to kick me out of the casino for such a minor infraction of their rules. The fact that I was almost $1000 dollars down just added insult to injury.
Why would any business casino or otherwise kick out patrons that do not warrant or deserve being treated with disrespect and in a very inconsiderate way.
It's not like I was causing any problems for them in anyway, is it possible the floor manager has issues at home that are manifesting themselves at his job? I mean I can't imagine anyone in a position of authority treating anyone that was not being disruptive and problematic in this business this way, let alone that they would stay in business for very long.
Neil Bryan was the floor managers name, I asked for his name and he promptly met me at my vehicle and told me I wasn't kicked out or banned from coming back, lol.
I'm sorry you don't feel good Neil, it isn't me that deserves your aggressive nature, please figure it out because your job depends on your ability to manage the public. You did not provide any value or safety to anyone by kicking us out of the casino. You did not have just cause, you did not provide any warning and me and my service animal did not deserve to be kicked out, it was a really...
Read moreFirst off, this review only reflects casino and event services. Did not stay at the hotel. Overall, the staff was great. Pleasant, VERY helpful, and courteous. However, its dining and events could use a HUGE improvement.
Attempted to dine @ its Acorn restaurant prior to attending its Dana Carvery event. After being seated, we promptly ordered. Restaurant was about 65% full. Drink orders were promptly brought. However 30+ minutes went by without our food. By that time, restaurant was only 50% full. Finally waved down waitstaff to get an ETA on our order. Was told "kitchen was backed up" and that our order was "in the queue." If we hadn't inquired we would have sat there for God knows how long wondering what happened to our order. Another 20+ minutes later, waitstaff stopped by, to say the kitchen was "plating our order." By the time we received our food, we took one bite, and then had to take our order to go, otherwise, would be late for the show. How the "kitchen could be backed up" with a half-full restaurant is beyond me. Furthermore, if that was the case, we should have been alerted at the time of our order that it would take an hour to receive it, so we could have have made other arrangements. Additionally, one person in our party is a diabetic, which complicated matters even more.
Took our "to go" boxes and made our way to the elevator. However, although not marked, the elevator only went "UP." Finally, made it to another elevator, but it would not go down to the Lower Level where the event was being held. Instead, used the escalator while carrying our dinners in one hand, with our other hand on the railing. Vestibule was crowded, but asked if there was someplace where we could take a bite of our food before entering the auditorium. Was shown a couple of bar height tables where others were trying to wolf down their food too, as they had encountered the same delay in getting their food. As we attempted to take at least one more bite, our food was already lukewarm. One person's au jus had spilled inside the box, ruined her fries, etc. A total fiasco. Finally just trashed the whole dinner.
Event's auditorium was a bit underwhelming. I say this with no disrespect, while Oroville is a very nice town, it is not a booming metropolis, so didn't expect grand staging, etc. However, it reminded me of an elementary school's multipurpose room. Could have used better and more screens too.
Probably could have overlooked the event space, but when paired w/the dining experience, it just did not make for an enjoyable evening or worth the out-of-town drive. Too bad, as its casino staff...
