We were in town for a sporting event and wanted some Asian food. We had an ok experience. We felt like prices were a bit higher than what you typically see with similar Hmong dishes but it also was a new area for us. You seat yourself and order at the counter and then get your own condiments for your pho, your own water, soda and silverware and then clear your own table when you’re done, which was fine but I’m not sure I would have given the 20% tip if I had known. I ordered a Thai tea but they brought out an iced coffee which I told them I didn’t order. Instead of working with me he simply said you ordered an ice coffee, I heard you ask for it, set it on the table and walked away. We were taken back by his action. I know I didn’t order it because I don’t like ice coffee and my whole family also heard me order Thai tea. My husband tried it and he thought it was terrible, so it went to waste. The mama special pho was just ok, the bowl itself was big but there hardly were any noodles or meat, just a lot of broth, it’s nothing we would want to go back for, appetizers were ok but they all came out with or food and not ahead of time. The basil fried rice was a good portion and was well flavored, the pork belly was ok but the meat portion was super tiny (would not fill someone up) it came with a huge plate of sticky rice. The papaya was probably our favorite. The naam vaab was ok I always take pictures of my food because I always want to support small Asian owned businesses but I was taken back by him forcing me to keep a drink I didn’t order and forgot to. We’re about customer service so we won’t be going back. If the food was mediocre and we had great custom service we would for sure continue to support them. But it was in our opinion just mediocre food...

Went there during the $5.00 lunch pho. There was only 2 staff in the restaurant. The cashier/waitress and the cook. Staff was friendly place was clean. The menu is a huge wallpaper on the wall and you pay before you receive your food. It was really weird because the bean sprouts, jalapeño pepper, and basil were all in a self serve area where you had to go get. The pho broth was very dark (not to my liking) and tasted to sweet. The $5.00 lunch pho size is very small and most likely will not fill you up if you only ordered one. Ordered the beef Yakisoba and it was very disappointing. The noodles tasted like ramen noodle that was mixed with tons of soy sause and oyster sauce. It was too sweet to enjoy. Ordered 2 eggrolls which came out very hot and fresh. The eggrolls tasted decent and will fill your belly. Total bill was roughly $25 plus change. Overall experience was weird because I was unsure if I had to clean my own table because the back of restaurant were tubs labeled for where the used dishes, plates, and silverware would go. I ended up cleaning my own table (felt weird). Would not be going back. I would give the bowl of pho ranking from 1 being the worst and 10 being the best. The...

I hate to give a negative review but this stands out as the most disappointing restaurant experience I've ever had. I'm far from a picky person and can you usually find something enjoyable with every meal but not this time. I ordered the pad Thai and the vegetable egg rolls. The noodles were pasty and overcooked and the entire taste was just off. It tasted like a twice reheated TV dinner. The egg roll was crispy and nice on the outside and promised to be delicious but alas was musty tasting and mushy on the inside like it has been in the freezer for a while. The sweet sour sauce the egg roll was served with was obviously diluted half and half with water as it was separating from itself and tasted very thinned. My friend who also ordered the same thing and I made it only through a few bites before we gave up and threw out our entire overpriced meal when the nausea set in. We both felt sick to our stomachs and left. All in all, the only thing that prevented me from sharing my disgust with someone in the restaurant was that I felt guilty some actual human being made this food and to merely describe how awful their creation was to them would surely be on par with assault. The most expensive stomach ache I've...

I was in Oshkosh for a conference and stopped by this place to grab dinner and lunch. The first time I was there I had a bowl of their Pho special and the pork egg rolls for dinner. I was quite surprised by how delicious it was. I am originally from Minneapolis, MN, so I have had my fair share of egg rolls and pho dishes. The second time I ate there was for lunch and had Grandpas Special (prom and greens with purple sticky rice and Hmong pepper); this is a traditional Hmong dish and I thoroughly enjoyed it! This place is great in terms of food quality and quantity; very flavorful and big serving sizes. Would highly recommend for anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine (Hmong/Thai/Vietnamese/Korean) or wants to try something new. In terms of the environment they have two gender neutral restrooms shared with the next door Chinese restaurant. It is self serve place; you will be picking up your food, getting your own drinks, and cleaning up after yourselves. This place can easily seat groups ranging from 2 - 10. There is a wait time, so I would recommend to not go if you are starving since you will be waiting for a bit; both times I went we waited about 15-20 minutes.

Visited from out of town and stopped for a quick bite. A casual sit-down place where you order at the counter and the food gets delivered to your table. Customers clean and discard their own garbage as needed. The customer service was friendly. We ordered the Pork Belly, Hmong Sausage, Papaya, Mamma Special Pho, Thai Basil Fried Rice, along with two Naabvam. Overall, the food is acceptable. The pork belly was tender but a little bit salty. Next time I will remember to ask for it to be a little crispier. The Hmong Sausage is the usual ones you get from the Oriental Market that is pretty good. The sticky rice does not appear "made to order" but it was acceptable. The Pho was also a little bit on the salty side, but good. Lastly, the Thai Basil Fried Rice was a lot lighter than the picture menu made it seem. Overall, when I am in town, I would return to support this restaurant. They have a perfect balance of food selection and menu size. Spent a whopping $71 approximately for what is described here, which I think is very high.
