I love Taco John's and have fond memories of going to the one on Linwood St in Oshkosh as far back as 1979 for Taco Tuesday and cherry Cokes; this was before Coke made cherry coke and TJ's would put cherry syrup in the coke by hand. When TJ's went out of business in Oshkosh I made the pilgrimage to Appleton as often as I could to get TJ's, I love Taco John's food and always have. Over the years I have had great customer service from them as well. Until today. Today was a work late Wednesday so our family was getting fast food for dinner. We choose Taco John's as we often do. I ordered and when I got home I found that my order was incorrect. I tried to call the restaurant to talk to the manager. They did not answer. Then I checked the receipt to see if I had been charged correctly and found out I was overcharged and I got the wrong food so I decided to run back to the restaurant and get the order straightened out. I went in and talked to a guy. I explained that I got two incorrect items, I showed him the items and that they were wrong, and I showed him on the receipt where they had charged me full price for two items when it was supposed to be buy one get one for a dollar. I asked if he could swap the items and discount the order to the correct total. He went in back to talk to the manager. I heard her say that there is no way the order was wrong as she made it and bagged it and that I would have to wait because they were busy. So I waited, I waited in the lobby from 6:00 until 6:48 when the manager finally came up front. When she did she said she was busy and the only one of the people there who could cook. I started to explain what I needed and she cut me off. She told me that the order was fine and that she would not be helping me and then she just walked away while I was still talking to her. So, yeah. Great job with the customer service TJ's Oshkosh on Sawyer. Seems like the GM or owner should spend some time...
Read moreYou have a phone for a reason Taco Johns in Oshkosh. Use it.
Staff are awesome when it comes to customer service, but fail to answer the locations phone.
I normally don't have anything bad to say about places because I know they do their best; however today I feel I need to say something.
Missing items for pickup order. We were met at the drive thru window with a friendly face and smile. Positive attitude and order was pushed thru in a timely manner... "only items were missing." Tried to call location and the phone rang and rang and rang. No one answered. 2nd call... it rang and it sounded like someone picked up only to hang up quickly to make it look like the call was dropped. 3rd time same results as the 1st call it rang on and not one person bothered to answer. Missing items consisted of Large Potato Ole's and Churro. I normally love going to this location, but today they dropped the ball.
Do better Taco Johns! I know you can because your location has a 4 star rating for this area.
Not everyone can turn around right away and go back as soon as...
Read moreI've always found taco John's to be better than taco Bell. Both in quality of the food and the presentation of the food. Taco John's may not have as big a menu as a taco Bell, but in my opinion, more variety doesn't mean better. I really like that the food at taco John's looks like it does in the picture. They take their time to make it properly and not just throw it together as fast as possible. I also find that taco John's dining area, although small, is almost always neat and clean. And lastly, the staff: being a fast food establishment, they do generally have a revolving door of employees (all fast food places do), but they always seem to be friendly and courteous. They are helpful and never make you feel that you are inconveniencing them by asking them to specialize something...
