El Loro Mexican Restaurant Owatonna — Restaurant in Owatonna

Came in at 6:30pm, they close at 9 (yelp said closes at 10). We are told they have a party of 30 and there's no tables other than high tops. Ok, no problem, but there are clearly tables open. Sit down, order drinks and we're told they are out of chips and salsa. Hmmmm.... The restaurant isn't even close to half full. Weird. Wait for our food and find out they also have no seasoned beef or chicken. They put unseasoned meats in the various dishes because they also ran out. Hmmmm.... Maybe let us know before we order. Tomato sauce instead of salsa on a few dishes. My sister told me they were better than Plaza Morena. I highly disagree. Who messed up and vastly underestimated the amount of food to the point you're out of most of your staple foods more than 3 hours before close? Why not just make more? I know where I won't be...

I give it a 3 because the food was good, but the service was horrible. We were sat at a table got some chips and salsa then waited 10 minutes before our server came to say hi or take a drink order. In this time another couple was sat down and helped by a server right away. When server finally came over it was to say she'd be with us in a minute. We also waited after eating for about 15 minutes to get a Togo box and our check. Wanted to try the churros but the wait for our server to come and ask if we wanted anything else was way to long. It would have been ok if they were busy but it wasn't that busy at the time. Maybe something else was going on, I don't know. But server could have told us that and I would have waited no problem but she never even said sorry for all...

we stop there two day ago, the service usually was really good.. No that day they bring my tacos with out cilantro and the young lady tell me nothing she can do about it.. in a really rude tone!!! I CAN EAT IT LIKE THAT OR NOT IS MY CHOICE !!! SHE SAID!! And second they do not bring tortillas for the caldo and when we ask they bring this horrible hard cold tortillas of course we complian again!!!they take the tortillas and never coming back with other ones and i ask and again they tell me nothing they can do about it.again rude was the rule!!! A the counter ready to pay, she suggest to call and advance !!!! REALLY??????!!!!! IS A MEXICAN RESTAURANT!!!!!! NO CILANTRO???? CALDO DE RES SIN TORTILLAS???? PLAESE!!!!!!! CALLL...
