As most of you know, we are suckers for a good burger. For New Years Eve ( again, most of you know, we aren't big drinkers), we googled good burgers, and the Google machine said Timberlodge was the way to go. So away we went. We're in waseca, so it was a little drive (no biggie). We made a reservation. We arrived, and the woman at the front checked us in ( later found out she was the manager). i asked for a menu while we waited. Not 2 minutes later, the same woman who checked us in, stood right in front of us, gave me the menu YELLS out our reservation name. Without even looking up, she told the waitress they must not be here. The waitress had been there for the entire 2 minutes and said to the manager, they are right here. So we get to our table. The waitress was okay. Nothing to special. We only saw her to take the order and to collect the check, the other young ladies were very friendly and attentive ( we should have left our tip for them) so I for some reason picked the Chicken Avocado Sandwich, Fries..oh and we had the Brushetta and Cheese Curds for an app. Dorian got a Blue Cheese Bacon Burger and Fries and French Onion Soup. The brushetta was OK ( really bad as leftovers - threw them out) the Cheese Curds were good. The Onion soup was okay. Everything was really delayed. The bread for our soup came out waaayy before the soup and well the two tables around us were offered extra bread, we weren't. And then our meals finally came out. And long story short RAW! we only ate our fries, taking the rest home and throwing away. BUT then, as I am clearing the table ( b/c I'm a nerd) we find plastic in the brushetta ( see picture). So when our "waitress " came with the bill, I told her. And yes they discounted that app, okay.. but the over all experience was really lacking... oh and on top of allllll that, I lost my bank card while at the restaurant... ( that's not their fault, I should have kept it in my wallet, but didn't want to bring it with) I do not think we will...

We were greatest by the door person and immediately seated. Our server named Jack was attentive at first and took our order of the Paul bunion blooming onion app.
After a short bit we ordered the ribeye steak and the New York strip with "carmelized" onions to top it off.
We didn't receive any bread, then our opinion came and honestly this was the best in show for our visit for food. Sadly when something deep fried becomes the star.
We then receive our meals. The temps on the steak were within range. However upon looking at the "caramelized onions" we soon discovered they were parts and pieces of the outer layers of the onion. We tatesed them and had a repulsive taste of them being pickled. They had a crunch to them and a vinger base. Absolutely a waste of 6.00 for two toppings.
Now let's get to the steaks..the ribeye was of decent quality as far as the meat quality. The New York was very tough, fatty, full of grissle.
Both steaks HAD ZERO FLAVOR there was no seasoning at all and BLAND ! This was a huge disappointment to us. The side of green beans was exactly the same way. Zero seasoning and bland.
The server came around at the end of the meal to ask how things were and we told him of the above tastings. He didn't seem surprised and as we heard from a guest in front of us they encountered the same situation.
He comped us a free cheese cake desert and said he will pass along the constructive criticism.
As a trucker and have gone to several hundred restaurants all over the country,I have to say this was probably in my top ten list of never to return back to.
I'd save your money and go further down the road to another location that puts love in their food.
It is very clear they serve alot of travelers that are unaware of the bad food and this is how they stay open. No local would return back to this location ever.

Read moreWe made a special trip from the Twin Cities just to come here for lunch this past weekend and it was well worth it! Everything about it, from the greeting as we entered to the service and the food, was top notch. Our waitress, Angela, was probably one of the best waitresses to ever have served us in any restaurant. She went out of her way to answer any questions to make sure we ordered what we wanted. When my wife had a question about the Mega Mary (a huge Bloody Mary jam-packed with all kinds of tasty morsels), she offered to get one just to show her what was in it. When I asked about the wild rice soup, she went back and got us each a small serving to taste. BTW, it was very good and I ended up getting a bowl, which was huge compared to other places where a bowl looks like a cup. Angela really went out of her way to make sure we got what we wanted and we didn’t have to wait for any refills. Now for the food. My wife ended up getting the Mega Mary and she loved it. It definitely was a meal in itself, with steak bites, shrimp, prime rib, deep fried mushrooms, ribs, chicken and onion rings. She also had a bowl of chili which was excellent. I had a side Caesar salad, which was fresh and twice as big as what you get elsewhere, and the Beef Trio open faced sandwich. A big helping of tender bites of 3 kinds of beef, creamy potatoes and plenty of gravy. Needless to say, we couldn’t eat it all and took the leftovers back for enjoyment later. Definitely a great restaurant experience with 10 star service from Angela and the delicious food, it was well worth the over an hour drive to get here. We are looking forward to...
