Dee's Diner — Restaurant in Owensboro

As a food delivery driver this is one of the only places in town that I refuse to deliver from. They are still not setup for customers to order and pay on GrubHub. Instead, customer places order with GrubHub and it is relayed to the delivery driver whom then has to drive to location, then place order, occasionally call customer for order clarification and pay with driver card before the order even gets into the kitchen cue. Due to their system, the customer has already been waiting 15-20mins before order is even placed. Then the delivery driver has to wait for the food to be cooked. This place is a perfect storm for bad reviews on delivery drivers and drivers' lost wages because their order and pay system is antiquated and so slow. Delivery drivers really are just supposed to pick up and go. I wish they would update their system. As a delivery driver, I'm rejecting all orders from here from now on. I can't afford to accept them. $7 orders with 20-40min waits.... After delivering: deliver driver just made less than minimum wage for the hour. Plus spent their gas. It matters how people order and pay for delivery. Delivering food should not feel like...

I throughly enjoyed my morning breakfast at Dee’s Diner. This was my first time visiting the establishment and I was impressed with the friendly service and diner decor. One thing I found interesting as I am a history fanatic were the many local historical sports publications about the many local teams hanging around the restaurant. Dee’s Diner proudly displays its many local awards with the latest being “Best Sandwich 2022” for the Owensboro area.

The food choices were typical of a diner such as this. I had the bacon and cheese omelet along with their signature pancake which is big enough to fit in a small pizza box for whatever patrons decide they cannot eat at the restaurant. I also enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and even the customers who were present. First time visitor...extremely happy. Parking lot was full so we had to circle the block and park down the road. You seat yourself and I'm pretty certain we got the last table. Waitress came quickly and warned us that there were new employees in kitchen so service was slower then usual. It did take a very long time to get our food but WOW it was a LOT and it was so delicious. I got a meal (for 10.75) of three eggs (ordered medium and cooked correctly), two slices of bacon and two sausage links (bigger then expected), biscuits and gravy. It also come with two pancakes. Pancakes that were HUGE. Now they admittedly arent the best pancakes I have ever had but they were larger than a dinner plate and the leftovers were sent home in a pizza box.
