The Oven — Restaurant in Owensboro

To be fair I went on a short day I think a Sunday and it was after lunch buffet.

No one was in there and they had not cleaned up yet. I ordered over the phone and picked up.

I ordered A 3 meat beep dish. So my review is solely based on that pizza.

If they cook in a brick oven, which I was assuming they did then is somewhat understandable why the pizza was burnt in spots because it may be hard to cook a deep dish pizza in a brick oven where you can’t really adjust the temperature and you only can adjust the movement and timing . The pizza was good nothing wrong there, but the taste was not within my liking the tomato sauce tasted a little too zesty for pizza to me. Of course, I had a lot of sodium because of the meat which was expected.

Only one employee came out to give me my order and take my payment. She was kind, but she was short with her words. No complaints either way just really no interaction. Like I said it was a short day and I probably came in towards the end. the pizza was $30 plus a tip probably around 37 bucks Not super unrealistic considering how heavy the pizza is because of all the meat and cheese that has to go on it so pricing seems fair overall would give this restaurant a 3.5 just based off the taste and enjoy ability of that...

Their pizza is always good. Just don’t let Uber deliver it. My pizza was cold. My salad was warm and soggy. Next time I’m going to go another route. Plus, with Uber, it was expensive! I didn’t care for the Turkey in the salad. It had gristle in it but the rest was fine. The driver said she put my address in her GPS for Uber and it sent it to Hwy 54! I don’t live on 54 at all…? If you go there, I’m sure it will be very good! Also, check out with one of the other delivery ppl. Pizza was great and hot! Super fast delivery! The salad is really good. Good portion of salad, too! So, the rating above was a little while ago. I got the bad deal from Uber above. Make sure that you are ordering from there menu because that was what happened last time. These delivery places change things. If you are not sure, call The Oven and order. You won’t be sorry! Feb 25, 2022! Yes, call them and make sure it’s The Oven because there will be all these delivery companies out there. They don’t have all the food that they serve either. If you call the store then you will get your order from there store! Hot, always before time and great!...

I ordered a XL Taco Pizza thin crust for pick up. This was my first time trying this place. The taco pizza is suppose to come with sour cream. I get there and the place is empty of customers and 3 people sitting in the back near the kitchen. Since I was obviously the only customer, they said "did you have the taco pizza" I said yes. They went back to get it and when they brought it out, I asked if the sour cream was in the box, they said yes.

I get around the corner and we open the box and there was no sour cream. I went back to the "oven" and told them it was missing sour cream. A women apologized and said she thought someone else put it in the box and had her go get some. They came out and stated that they were sorry and had no sour cream.

There were 3 people sitting...doing nothing and knowing I wasn't getting sour cream. Why not say it up front, why not go down to dollar general as I had to and get it, and why was I not offered a discount on a $24 pizza.

They will NOT be in business long. Typical customer service these days.
