Gene's Health Food — Restaurant in Owensboro

Highly disappointed. I really feel like they’re fleecing their customers anymore. I walked in a while back to buy a Solaray vitamin that I’ve bought from them for years. It used to be just under 14 dollars. Fast forward a couple months later, I walked in and they’re charging almost 18 dollars for the same product.

I got curious and looked online. I found the exact same product being sold by a handful of sellers on Ebay for under 13 dollars with free shipping and handling. Now you tell me….

I’ve known for quite a while that Gene’s overprices their products, but now I feel like they’re exploiting the downturn economy as an excuse to price gouge their customer base even more. That’s okay, I’m done with them. I’ll buy all of my supplements online for now on. Honestly, I should’ve done it years ago, but I tried my best to turn the other cheek for the local cause. We love Gene’s. It’s so helpful to have a good health store in town. I’ve found plenty of personal products, household goods, and health/wellness options here. The staff are great about recommendations and friendly. We refill water here since it’s about the same cost as buying a high end filter. It’s convenient and much better than buying water from the grocery stores.

Gene's is absolutely fantastic! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming each and every time we have gone in there. They have something new each time it seems and have plenty of options for every need you may have. We love going in and just browsing around. You'll find something you didn't see before. We love the local products and the "Prepared by Gene's" things as well. We haven't tried any of the food from there fixed fresh in the back yet but that's on the to do list for sure!
