Kim's Diner — Restaurant in Owensboro

Not so great 1st (& last) time eating here. All my food was either burnt, inedibly salted or not made the way we asked (asked for over easy eggs & got DRY scrambled), .This was mainly due to the fact that the Owner/cook, And her daughter, were on their phones Literally the entire time we were there, including while making our food, which she clearly did not care about the quality of.. Super unsanitary. The only non-burned food I received was my ham, which was paper thin pieces of lunch meat, and when I asked for something else while having my burnt food replaced, brought me 2 pieces of equally burned bacon. The poor servers did an amazing job (so sweet & accommodating), especially since they were the only ones working. My server Mary even remade my food herself. Owner made no attempt to speak to me about the poor quality of my food, nor remake it, because apparently customer satisfaction isn't nearly as important as her...

My husband has been working in Owensboro for almost a year, we love the local diners, this one not so much....while the food was good, the service absolutely was horrible. I am not sure if it's because we were not regulars or just plain rude staff, but the waitress was refilling coffee and walked by me twice never offering to refill mine, I ordered a pancake and had to ask for butter and syrup, they brought it with an attitude and finally refilled my coffee after I asked them too, I usually tip 50% of the bill in small establishments but they got exactly 20%.... Great people, great cooks, food is amazing at an affordable price. Honestly I love Kim's dinner when it comes to a good burger better than anywhere else in Owensboro. The fish looked amazing and I can't wait to go in on a Friday night to try it. Plus there burger week burger was sold out most of burger week but they make me one every time I go in there. I don't know if it's on the menu now or not I just know they made it for me when I asked and it was amazing. I'm a bigger guy and a single will fill me up.
