Unfortunately, if it weren't for the strawberry ice cream served at this location, the star count would be a 1. Nearly every time I visit this store I encounter a problem of some sort: from missing food items, rude employees, no napkins and menu items being out of stock, something always goes wrong with my visit. It also seems to do absolutely no good to complain to the manager on duty or to the corporate office as I have done so several times and have yet to garner a response of any kind. As I said, the ice cream served here is off the charts delicious (strawberry and vanilla swirl cone...yum!). If you wish to get one, however, you better arrive prior to 10 pm or you will be out of luck. Though Rallys doesn't close until 2/3 am, they seem to dismantle their ice cream machine with 4 or 5 hours left before they close, even during the peak ice cream time of the summer. The machine also breaks down quite a bit. For several weeks this fall, it was unavailable due to the machine having caught on fire (an employee actually told me this info in the drive thru!). It took them a long time to make those repairs. A few weeks later it was broken again (no info given, no up and running date given) for a 2 week run. Last week it was on the fritz again, this time with a freezing mechanism malfunction which as of last night had still not been corrected. Also, if you want anything besides a hard as a rock chicken/burger patty and slimy cold fries, again I suggest dining before 10, as after, it is anyones guess on whether or not your food will be edible. For anyone curious, Rallys fries are beyond gross when they are soggy and slimy; biting into one is an appetite killer for sure! With the exception of 1 of the newer female employees, the staff seems to all become grumpy and unpleasant after 10 pm as well. Even the store managers acquire a bad attitude with any customer who dares to complain. For example, one evening I found a long hair twined inside my cheeseburger (gross, i know, but it happens occasionally since we all do have hair!). When I pulled back into the drive thru and reached the speaker, I asked for a manager. The voice said, "Yeah, I'm the boss, whadda ya want?" then upon hearing of the hair says, "So wadda ya want?". No apology, offer to fix it, or anything. At that point I kinda lost my appetite so I requested a refund, not for everything but only for my sandwich. The boss looked at me like I was nuts, laughed, and said "Yeah, right. We don't do that here." She gave me an expired coupon for a free large fry instead So as I said, customer service at this store past a certain point in the evening seems to cease to exist. On the occasions I have eaten here during daylight hours, everything has been fine. Good food, adequate service and better everything in general. If you wish, you can even sit outside at one of the concrete tables with giant umbrellas to shade you as you dine (I love being outdoors so this is a big plus for me!).
UPDATE After posting my review, I was contacted by Rallys for the 1st time via a response to my review. The response asked me to go to Rallys website in order for them to learn more about what had transpired. I went to the contact Rallys page, entered the info to locate my store, and then nothing. I don't know if the site was having issues or what, but I tried several different ways to try to access the contact page and none were successful. This too has happened to me before but on that occasion I opted to use the listed phone number instead to lodge my complaint. On a side note, the Strawberry Swirl ice cream machine has still not been...
Read moreWent through Rally's on Frederica in Owensboro at approx 545 tonight (3/28/23). 1st-the new AI (artificial intelligence) ordering system is a joke. You place your order and pull forward. Getting to the window takes forever because once there, you have to give your order again for the live person to confirm or change, depending on what they're out of. This time they were out of all drinks except for diet coke and bottled water, which the AI is unable to share at the speaker. I was given a total from the AI that was 2+ dollars short and that was after taking my drink off because they were out of coke and I don't do diet. My side of mushrooms were ice cold but dealt with it and ate those on the way home. Got home and opened my sandwich to find that I had a regular fish sandwich instead of the double mushroom/swiss that I ordered. Tried to call and got an automated message that the mailbox was full. Drove back across town to get it corrected. Again, waited at least 10 minutes to get to the window after telling the AI that I had a wrong order and was told to pull forward. They replaced my sandwich somewhat quickly once there. I mentioned the cold mushroom sides and pointed out the order of fries that they had sitting in the same place my mushrooms were when I came through would likely be cold as well because that obviously wasn't a warm space. The worker told me that they were there because they were for the next car. I said fine, but I'm telling you they are going to be cold. She turned to another worker and very snarkily said 'ok, so don't put mushrooms there anymore'. I haven't done Rally's for a long while and am now officially done. In the time it took to get what I ordered, I could've made it at home and saved some money. Next time I will. On another note, based on view from the window, it could use a good...
Read moreThis place is full of disgusting. They don't care about quality of the food they serve. More often than not the lettuce is brown and slimy. The tomatoes and other sauces have sat all day and night at room temperature which means usually they are wilted and slimy and nasty. The sauces such squawk sauce, the BBQ mayo, hone mustard sits for days without being changed with all sorts of lettuce, pickles and onion and sesame seed droppings in them. The chilli is made from old hamburger patties usually sit out at room temp all day then stores for a week usually without any lid on them. The fryers only get cleaned once a week and there are times it goes for longer between cleaning. The ice cream machine as well. Would not recommend getting ice cream especially for kids or elderly. It's usually spongebob status in the machine. The milkshake machine doesn't work yet old moldy mix is in it. The hud over the fryers does not work which is a severe health and safety issue. The Gm asks you to work extra hours that the Dm just takes away from you after you work then. They deny 30 minutes breaks but doc employees for them anyway. The dry stock shed in the back is gross as well. Many employees urinate inside it. Some including the General manager and assistant manager whom are in an entanglement have sex in. This is where your drinking cup's sandwich wraps ice cream cups and cones, forks, spoons knives, soda bibs, powder sugar, ect. Is stored until needed in store. They steal money and cover it up with fake goods and deletions or they blame it on a cashier and take the cashier's job, or they will try and force their managers and crew to cover it for them out of their paycheck's. Horrible and unsafe place to work. Lowest pay...
