Maybe we went on an off night (Wednesday evening) but we were honestly really disappointed after reading such positive reviews. Our first impression was a corner booth that honestly was filthy; if that’s in the dining area, what’s the kitchen look like? It also seemed odd that there was nothing on the table except salt and pepper — no sauces or seasonings. Menu was simple but covered all the major Mexican bases. We opted for the “choose your own” that’s around $11-12 and you pick 2-3 options (ie. burrito, chimichanga) with rice and beans. Husband went with chicken burrito and steak chimichanga, I went with cheese quesadilla and chicken chimichanga. They upcharged his steak option by $1 which isn’t a big deal but would’ve been nice to know as it’s not mentioned on the menu. The cheese quesadilla was … not good. It reeked of fish from what I’m guessing is old oil. The chicken in the burrito and the chimi was disappointingly plain — no seasoning, no ANYTHING in the chimi other than lightly peppered chicken. The steak chimi was actually really flavorful and had a nice taste. The rice had close to no flavor (literally less than a box of Rice A Roni Mexican) and the beans were pretty standard. We opted to get two rounds of “cheese dip” because it was a 40 minute wait for dinner and that was probably the highlight of the meal for me. The service was attentive and the fountain soda was good but we walked away having spent $45 and feeling frustrated. Seeing as how the steak did indeed taste really yummy, I kinda feel like if you find your “thing” here, you could have a really enjoyable meal but for us on the whole, we were left with a bad taste...
Read moreStop here for lunch with a friend, we both got an taco salad, hers was with hamburger mine was with chicken. Mine had a good amount of chicken and very little salad on it. The chicken had some kind of white sauce on it that made the Shell very mushy. I asked our waiter about the lack of lettuce on the salad she asked me if I would like a little more to put on there since mine had very little. She brought me a very small bowl of lettuce and then charged Me for the lettuce, we also had a coupon for half off one of the dinners so try saying we could not use it at lunch time even though the coupon said it was good for lunchtime. Then she tried saying we had to order so much food to use that I pointed out it did not state that and the coupon she did finally let us use it after charging me $1.60 for a teeny bowl of lettuce. I could not even eat the chicken it tasted really bad and still to this day did not know what the white soupy sauce was , I was very sick the rest of the day from the little bit that I ate. We will never return to this place it was that bad Are usually will give a place two times in case they were having an off night but will never give this place another chance , this was the one that...
Read moreCame for a family dinner. Waitress greeted us and we were seated. Upon ordering I requested hard tacos. She said they don’t have hard tacos just medium. I asked if I could have them fried a little extra because I don’t care for soft tacos. She said ok. I then asked after everyone else placed their order to make sure my tacos were not going to be served soggy or soft. She reassured me they wouldn’t be with a smile. When they arrived they were soft shell flour wrapped in foil, steaming. I was shocked. I didn’t send them back because we had to wait for salsa bowls to be cleaned she said. We did have to wait a little longer for our food which I really thought it was because I asked for extra cooking time on my tacos. Very sad that I got soggy tacos after asking twice. However, chips and salsa were good and service with a smile was great. Just wish paying for $50.00 dollar dinner bill and a sizable tip I would have been able to have...
