McDonald's — Restaurant in Oxford

Arrived just before 3 p.m.. Ordered to go at counter: Crispy Chicken Ranch Salad, Southwest Salad w/ Crispy Chicken, Big Mac, sm. Fry, and Pie. Started OK at order, then went downhill from there. Two staff were assembling the food, two working the front, and someone who appeared to be a manager(blue button-down shirt-fully untucked!). Back staff yelling back-and-forth with front staff, and amongst themselves, to be heard by the entire dining room, consisting of mostly senior citizens. Then the "manager" joined in on the hell-raising. Normally, this would not be a big issue, but when they screw-up the order, to boot, this crosses the line of unacceptability! I observed the front staff already return a salad to the back staff, asking him, "what the hell is this?" He just laughed. As we left with our food, I advised my daughter to use this visit as an example to stay in school. Otherwise, she could be back there with them! In hindsight, we should have checked the order, because it wasn't until we arrived at home, when we discovered the Crispy Chicken Ranch Salad, was not even close: wrong lettuce, with BLACKENED GRILLED CHICKEN on top! By the general appearance of the salad, it appeared as though he just removed what he thought was the wrong protein, and added what he thought was the correct protein. Still the wrong chicken, and with the old salad! Returned with food in hand, approximately one hour later. A totally new crew was on, and a completely different/more professional vibe was present. Shift supervisor was very gracious, and refunded the salad. FRANCHISE OWNER: get a clue and try to save your restaurant. I am updating my review but not removing the previous one. Tonight I ordered from McDonalds and the food was excellent. The fries looked and tasted fresh. The cheeseburger looked and tasted good and had a good amount of ketchup and mustard on it as ordered. Nice job to McDonalds tonight. That was the best cheeseburger and fries received in a long time. The staff as always were polite and professional. I am moving from a 2 star rating to a 4 star for the change I saw tonight.

These are my french fries from McDonalds in Oxford tonight. Many brown and hard as a rock, others tasting like oil. I worked at McDonalds when young. These fries would not have been acceptable and would never have gone out the door. On a positive note, I was given the correct cheeseburger which was good. Last time I ordered a cheeseburger with just mustard and ketchup, I received a regular cheeseburger with pickles and onions. Another time I ordered a cheeseburger with mustard and catchup and received a double cheeseburger. I hate double cheeseburgers. I once went home with someone else's two sandwiches which I brought back so I could reorder again. I am also including a photo of a cheeseburger I took a photo of last year. I don’t normally take the time to write many reviews, but when someone like Mike is working the drive-thru, it absolutely deserves recognition. Mike is, hands down, the kindest and sweetest person I’ve ever encountered in fast food service. Every single time I pull up and see that he’s the one at the window, I instantly smile. He makes the entire experience something to look forward to — not just for me, but for my kids too.

Mike always has something kind to say. He greets us with genuine warmth, chats with us while we wait, and goes above and beyond to make sure everything is just right. He’s so sweet to my kids — making them laugh, asking them how their day is, and making them feel special. It’s such a simple gesture, but it means so much.

In a world where people are often rushed and interactions can feel cold or transactional, Mike is a breath of fresh air. He turns a quick food stop into a bright spot in our day. McDonald’s is incredibly lucky to have someone like him representing their brand, and I hope he knows how appreciated he truly is.
