On vacation in Oxford, I found this place that has the claim "#1 burger in the U.S.A.", so just like finding the world's best coffee in New York City, you gotta go in and give it a try! No groceries here!😁 I was hoping to try the catfish basket, I guess it wasn't in season. I had the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings, my wife had the four cheese burger and fried pickle chips, and my daughter had a bacon cheeseburger and fries. This place had a very nostalgic feel like an old county diner. The menu is small and the quality is good. If you rather not go to a chain for mystery ingredient food and you're in the area, give it a try! I don't think you would be disappointed with the food. On the other side of it, open hours are limited, so check the day and time you plan to stop by.

Love this place. It almost made my five-star list which is very hard to get on to. The food was well prepared and served. The service was great. The atmosphere was friendly casual. Definitely a place I'll be going back to it. Might even move up to five stars after a few visits. I had the smokehouse Burger. It had smoked sausage, barbecue sauce, bacon, burger patty, cheddar cheese.

Historic spot in Oxford, known for the burger it’s a really good burger get the Philly steak it’s my favorite, I had patty melt today which was a little greasy but still very tasty the hand cut fries are really the star of the show and the staff here is friendly and they get food out very quick!!

Love heading here to visit my son at Ole Miss. Being born and raised in the Philly area, cheesesteaks are a bit of a love/judge affair for me. Such a simple sandwich, and not many get it right. Well Phillips Grocery gets it right.

Service is walk up counter and order, with self serve soda fountain and is quick, friendly and easy. Nab a drink and sit inside the comfy casual interior or head outside if the weather allows. I have been able to sit outside on the porch which I prefer and love it.

Going during game weekends or special events, or right at lunch time can be quite a wait for ordering, getting your food and finding a table. Not a large place, but if able go during off times and not on a game weekend! My last visit was just before the LSU game around 11am and we had to wait for our food for about 30m. Not too bad as it was busy (not as busy as it can be) but weather was great and porch seats were available. Sit, chat and watch the world go by (thanks to self serve soda!).

Sandwiches were spot on, hot and fresh and cheese perfectly melted into the meat. They are a bit smaller than the Philly based sandwiches I grew up with but very good and worth the wait.

Do yourself a favor and make time to visit, and if too busy come back when less of a crowd, well worth the wait. ...

If I could have left less than 1 star I would have. This is the absolute worse service I have ever received. I wasn’t addressed in the first 30 minutes of sitting down, then waited two hours to receive the food. There was no apology from any of the staff members or an update on any of the food. To add to that the kitchen was POORLY kept, the cooks weren’t dressed properly and neither was the staff. I had to get up and refill my drink twice! Too add to all of this my food was freezing cold! Horrible food, horrible service, horrible staff, and over all a horrible establishment. I will not...
