Food was good to very good. Avacado fries were unique and tasty. Deep fried but still firm structure probably frozen 1st then fried, either way, well executed. Smoked Blue fish pate was also very good. Crab cake was good, ratio of lump to backfin could have been better. The chicken breast and confit leg was also good, porcini coating wasn't very noticeable, but mushroom essence was good in the sauce. Sticky toffee pudding was dangerously delicious. Service was off as Oxford recently had flooding and Tavern was busier than normal but 2 servers were not able to provide adequate/timely service, drinks especially, at the beginning it was like begging to get attention, but once we had her attention we ordered as much as we could at once not knowing how long things would taste. All said, I...

WHY You Should Go: This resto represents lovely destination dining, if like us, you want to escape the hustle-bustle of the DC-metro area, explore a cute/quaint eastern shore town, and sample a rightfully-named local fave! A slight delay with service (understandable because of the popularity of the place during Thanksgiving day festivities) was graciously acknowledged with complimentary glasses of prosecco (THANK YOU, Chef Salter and staff!) WHEN You Should Go: Year-round, to enjoy the quaintness, beauty, and hospitality of MD's eastern shore. We'll also be returning when the weather is a bit warmer, as a destination for one of our...
