In my opinion: May 7, 2022, Saturday 7:00 pm reservation in the patio. Service was extremely negative, poor, slow and inattentive. Food was average or below for a Mexican foodery. Waitress spilled part of my drink on the table and on me. She did not clean up the spill nor replace the drink. I ended up cleaning up the spill with all the paper napkins from the table. I had to request additional napkins otherwise we would not have had any napkins. She did not care nor understand that it should have been part of the service. The bill was was about $350.00 plus tip. She insisted that the meal and tip be ran separate on the credit card. Since service was substandard I initially left $40.00 in cash for the tip. I did not want to run the credit card the second time . She insisted that I had to pay 18% ($65 total) for the tip and she would not accept less. In order to stop the argument, I gave her the additional amount which I felt was not deserved. If service had been appropriate I would have left $100.00, however, service was not worth the amount demanded and paid. I will "not" be back, but I will communicate my experience. FEBURARY 29th WAS MY FIRST TIME I ATTENDED VERO'S MEXICAN RESTAURANT ON 5th STREET IN OXNARD CA. I GAVE THE RESTAURANT 5 STAR'S FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS. THE RESTAURANT WAS VERY CLEAN OVERALL, THE STAFFING WAS VERY FREINDLY, COURTESY AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY ALL HAD A BEAUTIFUL PERSONALITY AND SMILED THRU OUT MY VISIT. THE FOOD WAS FRESHLY MADE AND EXCEPTIONALLY TASTEFUL AND HOT IN TEMPERATURE. THE PRICE'S WERE COMPARABLE TO OTHER RESTAURANTS IN OXNARD BUT THEIR FOOD WAS BETTER THAN MOST OTHER MEXICAN RESTAURANTS IN OXNARD, IN MY OPINION AND EXPERIENCE.
