Oralia's Bakery — Restaurant in Oxnard

I found this place via Google and made a special trip. When I got there, I was NOT greeted nor acknowledged in any way. The woman behind the counter kept her conversation going with the patron she (appeared) to feel most comfortable with, as they both communicated in Spanish. After 3 minutes or so, I apologetically excused myself and asked if “those” were the only concha bread she had. She only acknowledged me by trying to hand my a tray and tongs. I then posed the same question in Spanish, to which she replied with her fingers pointing to a table of individually wrapped goods, but never missing a beat of her conversation with the other person. She came off irritated with me, for what reason I do not know since it was my first (and now LAST) visit. I was cordial and waited to be somewhat acknowledged, but as I saw it wasn’t going to happen that’s when (as I’ve stated) apologetically excused myself to pose my question. If people want their “local business” to be supported, THEY have to make the Customer want to return. A quick acknowledgment of any kind goes a long way…and if you’re having a bad day, CLOSE SHOP or find someone to assist for the time.

I’ve been to this bakery a few times before and I’ve never had a bad experience. But today has changed the way I feel about this place . My boyfriend ordered a small burrito with just the basics rice beans and egg and salsa I went ahead and grabbed 2 concha’s and a horchata. We go to pay and BOOM!!! The amount is $11.00!!!!! I mean the lady charged us no lie $6 for the burrito . I didn’t realize how much the food was until we got into the car . My boyfriend was upset because of how much the woman charged us. Before the burritos were $3 for a small and $6 for a large . We didn’t order the large but she still charged us for it . And when I went to get some bread the bread looked hard It also didn’t look appetizing and they didn’t have much variety so when I went to grab the bread to no surprise it was as it rlooked HARD ! This did happen a previous time but I thought I’d give them a second chance to redeem themselves but again this place just disappointed me so…….. really I won’t be back and for others STAY AWAY AND DONT GET OVERCHARGED FOR FOOD...

We got a cookie butter iced latte with oatmilk & banana cold foam (10/10 would get again). We also got an iced brown sugar latte with vanilla cold foam (8/10 - good but not as great as the cookie butter). Unfortunately, we weren’t able to score a cinnamon roll at this time. The line was long and I had to wait 30 minutes, but it was worth it! If you have time to kill and nowhere to be… it’s def worth a try.

Instead we got a chicharrones burrito & a variety of concha’s at the bakery attached.

The parking lot was small and most of the parking on the street was taken, but I just drove around for a few minutes and had no trouble...
