I recently visited Smokin’ Jay’s Hot Chicken - BBQ - Munchies and had the brisket and tri-tip dinner plate. It was an amazing experience. The brisket was incredibly tender and flavorful, with a perfect smoky taste that wasn’t overpowering. The tri-tip was equally impressive, cooked just right and seasoned beautifully. The sides were great complements to the meat. The beans and garlic toast were a great complement to the meats. The portions were generous, ensuring I left fully satisfied. The overall quality of the food was top-notch, showing that they really know their BBQ. Service was friendly and efficient. The staff made me feel welcome and ensured I had everything I needed. If you’re a fan of BBQ, Smokin’ Jay’s is definitely worth a visit. The brisket and tri-tip dinner plate was a highlight, and I’m looking forward to trying more from their menu.

Update my review to thank the owner on how amazing he took care of me and my son . He explain the mistake on his end and now I Also understand a bit more about the type of meet. The owner was incredible following up on my original problem and we went back a week later. . We had tri-tip that was amazing. We are extremely happy with smoking Jay's I asked what was good to the cashier.. brisket anything with brisket so I was excited to try it . Pls don't meat was mostly fat and almost cold I honestly don't understand what the hype is.. the meat was flavorless well the brisket , fat .

Holy cow (and pig)! This food is good. I suggest the bbq chilli bread bowl when they have it (a special sometimes). It was so delicious, especially on a rainy California weekday. It's also a decent amount of food for the money. Loved the staff, super helpful and passionate about their food. Ask them what their favorite is and you'll get good suggestions if it's your first time. Atmosphere is a food court. Nothing against the restaurant, but you don't go here for the atmosphere.

This is the third time I tried it. The first time the chicken was too Chile hot for me to eat, I literally just had one bite and threw it away. By the way, I had another family member try it and they declined the burger.

Second time, I ordered the fries they were good needed more chicken than fries. My friend ordered brisket it was good not great and the macaroni said I'm just biased I prefer to make my own. I cannot comment on the baked beans because I am just not a fan.

The third time, the line was long. I expected that. What I did not expect is how slow it is to get through the line. It's horrible. It's seems to be worse everytime. 😕 The cause maybe because their menu is not consistent everyday and the girls this time had no clue what they were doing and giving incorrect information. Today they were doing a collab, therefore, many guests expected yet no efficiency. We ordered a platter in which the lady told us it had 2 waffles and chicken wings, 3 tacos, 3 sliders and pancit and lumpia. When we received it, it was 1 waffle and 1 wing, 3 tacos, 1 slider and pancit and lupia. The waffle was nothing special. The wing was great and the tacos. The slider "meh" and the lupia and pancit I would just order from someone else who cooks it daily and is known for it. My nephew ordered the brisket sandwich and he said it was good. I got fries with me questioning, where's the chicken? My other family member had a brisket combo and said it was OK.

I probably won't be coming here for a long while. Disappointed with the lack of customer service and food is ok and it's always good to try a new place out. I did take photos but decided not to post, not the greatest detail...

We got the tri tip sandwich, hot links, and garlic bread. We tried to order al pastor fries, but the person at the register was clearly out of it.

The food was good, pretty much what you expect from a BBQ place. My issue lies with the person at the register.

As soon as we walked in, he was screaming someone's name for their order, which is fine. Then he proceeded to scream the name, at the top of his lungs, every few minutes. It was very unsettling. When we went up to order, we were asked what we want, and when I started, he looked away. I paused, waiting to see if he'd put it in the register, then he looked back, apologized, said he had adhd, to which I said its okay and restarted.

I am no stranger to mental illness, but he was clearly not fit to do this job. We were rushed along, and I finished by asking for the al pastor fries. He said he needed to check if they had it, he turned to say something unrelated to someone else behind the register, screamed the name again, then came back to us to ask if that's it. I decided it wasn't worth it to try to ask about the fries because I was tired of this interaction and just said yes.

I would have also liked to ask for bbq sauce on the side to try, but again, he did not seem to be in the right headspace to take an order. Again, he screamed the name every few minutes while we waited on our food. It was a relief to get it and go.

I likely won't be back based on this...

Great BBQ overall. There are only a few things I, personally, have small to large issues with. This one doesn't affect me because I never order them because of the issue. Way too many sauces on a lot of the items. In the majority of cases, sauces should be used as condiments, not components of a dish. The next 2 issues have to do with the pulled pork sandwich. There is a ton of fat still in the pork. Whoever pulls the pork needs to do a better job because that turns a great dish into a bad one. I know when you order take out it says, they are not responsible for quality or whatever but with that you should still put effort into making sure it will be a good meal. The majority of times I've ordered the pork sandwich the bottom of the bun is soaked in the jus so bad that I throw it away. Yes, the jus should be in there, but, if it is take out, get the majority of it out. That is why you give the BBQ sauce on the side. Anyways, I'm not trying to knock this place too much because it is good food and I still will order from them. Just a couple things that could...
