McDonald's — Restaurant in Palatine Township

This McDonalds is pretty much a disaster. Because it's so close to my house, work, and I like the taste of the food, I frequently visit McDonalds. This is going to stop however due to the fact that (especially during morning hours) the employees are consistently delivering the wrong food or charging incorrectly, or ringing up the products incorrectly. It has gotten so bad that I literally have counted the last 20 visits using a number system to record how many orders were successfully processed. In fact, morning orders were correct at a staggering 40%. In other words, in 10 visits, you have a possibility of getting your order right 4 times out of 10 (ordering 3 items or less). In the evenings, performance was more consistent but the likelihood that I will be charged incorrectly increased. Of these times I had an order success rate of 90% in the evenings. The obvious answer to this discrepancy is that they are busier in the mornings but my study also accounts for the daily morning disparity of English speaking individuals. The other problem with the morning service is that that employees cannot be bothered at the front and refuse to invest themselves in the job they are performing. Just earlier today I had to tell them how to make the caramel mocha frapp. I asked the lady working how long she had been there and she replied for 2 months. I paid $3.50 for that experience. But I should have paid attention to the main order (Chicken McNuggets) of which I received only 10 of the 20 I ordered. In short, this was for me the last straw. I have never demonstrated aggressive behavior or made any otherwise impolite gestures towards the employees but I feel like there is no control or desire for order at this McDonalds. It is a growing disappointment for a patron like myself who has fond memories of childhood experiences here with his family. My intention in writing this review is not to discourage others from dining here (unless it that's what it takes), but rather to help call attention to the lack of discipline at this location so that the management can reevaluate their efforts in maintaining a pleasing and consistent atmosphere for clients who would like to spend...

I've been to this location a couple times, and didnt have any issues until today. I really enjoyed coming here, the staff here are nice.

The person behind the counter scanned my qr code from the mcdonalds app promo which shows a "Free any size fry with a purchase of a large unsweetened tea, or large fountain drink" at the front. I told the front worker politely that I wanted a LARGE fry along with a LARGE fountain drink (which is what's required to purchase to receive a "ANY size fry" btw). Anyways, after the transaction I notice my receipt says its a free "medium" fry and not a free "large" fry and got handed a medium fry.

Now, I wasn't particularly aware until the food was given to me. But I asked why is was not a large fry and the worker said its a medium, and then when I asked "why", they said it was a free medium fry with the app. I told them that it said it was a ANY size free fry, but they declined to fix it and kept saying it was a free medium. I'm not gonna argue cause it's not worth it, it's a free fry after all. I'm just disappointed in the service today overall.

Im not trying to be rude, but if you offer a free "any" size fry, but then give a size down compared to what the customer asked for, then whats the deal with that? I've gotten free large fries with a large fountain drink before here at this very mcdonalds via the app, and now all of the sudden you guys are being stingy about the free fries promo and not following your promotion properly? Not only that, the fries you gave tasted 15 minutes old and weren't even fresh. But that's "okay" I guess for your standard comped to other locations.

Ok so this will sound weird, but this is one of the best McDonald's in the area. I know a restaurant that was born with the nothing that each one was exactly same and I am celebrating one that is different. For starters they have the BEST tea of any McDonald's in the area. I am not sure what the manager does, but I think they have the employees dump the old stuff after a few hours and make it fresh. I have been drinking tea (iced tea, hot tea, tea lattes...) all my life and I can tell you how long tea has been sitting out. This stuff is fresh all the time. Their coffee is equally as a good. The staff and management are always super friendly. Really above and beyond the call. I have had orders messed up at a McD's before. Usually no big deal, I tell them, they remake it. At this one when it happened ONCE in the last 8 years the Manager came out, apologized and gave me and my kids all coupons for a free ice cream. So yes.
