unfortunately didn’t get a chance to try this place & due to the interaction i had tonight, i won’t attempt to again in the future.
wanted a late night saturday bite, and was choosing between Quentin Tap, a fairly new establishment, or a local trusted favorite in Palatine. We decided to try this place since the food looks amazing in the reviews! We called at 10:35pm asking what time the kitchen closes, and we were told 11pm. We arrived to the restaurant quickly at 10:44pm, to where there was 1 table and about 4 people at the bar, so not busy. The nice bartender greeted us from the bar and asked us if we were looking to sit at the bar or a table. we kindly asked for a table, and the bartender called the waitress over to seat us, which she was just sitting at a table on her phone. she honestly didn’t look like she wanted to get up, as it took her a minute to. she stopped at the kitchen before making her way over to us, and didn’t even greet us, instead right away asked if we were looking to just get drinks or get food. we told her we were looking to get food, and she instantly said the kitchen was closed. i did let her know that we had just called and they said it closed at 11pm, to which she made a face and word by word said “i don’t know what to tell you, the kitchen is closed.” we just said okay thank you and left.
i completely 1000% understand if they had chosen to close a few minutes early. i understand that we had arrived about 15 minutes prior to closing time. typically if we ever do arrive at a restaurant less than 30 minutes before their kitchen orders, we always put in all our food order all at once and are completely okay with closing out our tab after receiving our food. we are never difficult at any restaurant & are very understanding and patient people. but what really made the experience bitter was the fact that instead of saying “i understand and i apologize for the confusion but the kitchen did decide to close a little earlier”, she said “i don’t know what to tell you” along with making a face at us. didn’t offer an apology, “these are our hours tomorrow, we hope you can give us a try then”, literally nothing. and as soon as we left, she went back to sit down. considering this is a brand new locally owned establishment, you’d think that offering kind and friendly service would be a priority, especially on a slow night. this rude interaction with the server left an incredibly bitter taste in my mouth and i will not be coming...
Read moreQuentin Tap is open, and it’s worth a visit! Located at 783 N. Quentin Road on the southeast side of Northwest Highway and Quentin Road in Palatine, IL, and owned by the Tselos father-son duo. The sports bar serves tavern-style pizza, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads, chicken wings, mac & cheese options, appetizers, and cold drinks to wet your whistle. My party of three recently ate there on a Friday evening, and we were not disappointed. Like many restaurants, when they first open and people want to satisfy their curiosity, the restaurant/bar was packed at the height of the dinner hour, so we had a twenty-minute wait. We sat at the bar, had drinks, and the wait time passed by fast. Our server, Mason, was friendly and attentive. We decided to share a small pepperoni pizza, a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, and a brisket grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough bread with tater tots and sweet potato fries. I appreciated the fact that the cheese on the pizza was nice and gooey, instead of burnt or hardened like the sugar topping on crème brûlée. Both sandwiches were delicious, and the sweet potato fries cooked perfectly (nicely crisp outside, soft inside). The tater tots could have been slightly crispier on the outside, but they were still good. (I’m a fan of crispy, but never too dark or burnt). Visit Quentin Tap soon and often, and help make this good-vibes sports...
Read moreI had an absolute fantastic time at Quentin Tap. My friend and I wanted to catch up and get together at a restaurant between us and we found this apparently new restaurant. The vibe of the restaurant was very welcoming, the furniture looked new and you can tell they just poured a ton of money to make the place very inviting.
We had the Hot Honey Pizza and BLT sandwich, it was absolutely amazing. I honestly ate it so fast I didn't' really get a chance to take better pictures of the food as it was delivered. It was that good.
I also met the owner I believe while I was there, you can see we took a shot together (on the house) while we visited as a way of thanking us for being new customers.
What surprised me the most was how good the Pizza was, I grew up eating Peapod's, Giordano's, Laminate's, and Homerun Inn Pizza and this definitely stood among those greats. If you go order the Pizza you won't be disappointed.
I definitely will go here again, and plan to go in the future with the family.
Thanks again Quentin's Tap, we had a...
