Smakowski's Deli — Restaurant in Palatine Township

This is your typical Polish deli in abundance of various Polish foods sauces soups and deliq meats. However there are one excellent item is there pierogies. I shop at various Polish delis but there has to be one of the best I've ever had and when I'm having company I make no hesitation but head to smakowski to buy the pierogies. I used to live in Palatine and Smakowksi deli was ""my polish" to go place.... I ordered food from here many times for various occasions. This year I ordered turkey for Thanksgiving and drove from Wauconda to pick it up. And it was worth!!!!!!!!!!!! The meat was seasoned very well, juicy and tender!!!!!!!! People used to be much nicer and friendly. Not so much now and short tempered on last two visits. Im as honest as they come...maybe over worked? Prices have gone up but that's to be expected. Just not the same place anymore. 10/28/24 Update: Just bought some of their cheese blintz which I used to love but now its all blintz and no cheese and price is almost $7 per pound. This place needs to go back to its roots of 10 years...
