So I was excited about eating Mediterranean food at this newly opened restaurant in Palatine. Falafil have always been a hit with me and my family. Very easy to find the restaurant. So you go up to the front counter and you have to go to the left side so the computer can take your order, just like other fast food restaurants. You go through the computer algorithm and when you dine in you have to put the tent at your table. I went through the algorithm twice to make sure I was not missing anything. Yep I did it correctly, and replaced the tent at my table since assuredly I would be eating soon, served as a dine in order. After waiting 30 minutes no food and a very hungry belly, I went back up to the counter and bypassed both computer order takers and asked for a human being. No orders were processed. Did you pay for your order, no sir, the computer said the order was taken and to place the tent at the table and the order would be processed. This human being started to get defensive and said, "It is not my fault." Great, but no one said it was your fault I said to myself. So he asked what would I like to eat, Falafil? No a Falafil plate. So I get ready to pay my bill and it is double what I expected. He tells me that I ordered both a Falafil and a Falafil plate, and says communication is important. I was thinking but not saying anything, and what I was thinking was that the order taker is a poor listener. He corrected the price and I paid via credit card. When the food finally comes it was brought without any utensils. Well that is just fine and dandy and he shows me that I can get my own utensils the same place where I got the soft drink from, about 50 feet from my table. At this point, a vending machine would have been cheaper, more preferable, more convenient, and more prompt. The pocket pita was not a pocket pita, more like a sealed pocket shut. How is the Fafafil going to fit into a sealed pocket. All this time I was horrified but said nothing since I did not want the staff to get even more angry. I finished and left the establishment. However I do realize that the owner probably has at least half a million invested, and when they do not do well, one may ask why. The answer is in the...
Read moreFor those looking for crowd-pleasing food for a party or large event, I highly recommend this company. I (event planner) hired Pita Pita to cater my client’s backyard wedding and was very impressed with the quality of not only the food, but also the service.
Service: From the food tasting that we did before selecting Pita Pita to the post-event communication checking for satisfaction, the service was fantastic. After selecting this company for our event, Mustafa took time on multiple occasions to ensure that he fully understood the details of the event day. Through phone calls, texts, and emails, he clearly demonstrated his concern for ensuring that the details were taken care of. He made himself available despite his busy schedule. The food was delivered on time (in two waves) and the delivery staff were friendly, clean cut, and helpful. I can’t say enough about how quickly and efficiently the delivery guys worked to get dinner going on time. Wonderful service.
Food: Superb. The wedding guests were delighted (and demanding business cards) and the bride and groom were raving. Let’s be honest here, when is wedding food ever good? The food was flavorful, fresh, unique, and delicious. The guests were absolutely thrilled. We had many leftovers and I admit, I’m still enjoying them.
Recommendations: Chicken Tawook, Beef Shish Kebab, Baba Ghanouj are all...
Read moreI went for lunch and paid $15 for a mixed meat lunch meal. When I got the food it just dawned on me that I paid $15 for shawarma that I could fit in one spoon, a miniature chicken breast half the size of my palm that I could eat in one bite, kifta that is the smaller than a chicken nugget, and the best part is to substitute the rice with more salad it actually costs an additional $1.25! Talk about overpriced looool. Let's just say they must have HEALTHY margins. I can get a mixed meat lunch with triple the amount of meat with a falafel and salad for $10 at pita inn. The food was good but the experience is hard to enjoy when you realize you just got robbed. I know this isn't a one time experience because the portion size has been consistent the last 3 times I've been. My friend got a small shawarma sandwich with muthawama (garlic sauce) and a fountain drink for $22. Let's just say we all left hungry. I can go to al bawadi grill and get a lunch special that comes with rice salad and hummus for $9.99. Totally not worth it, overrated and most importantly OVERPRICED. The owner needs to realize he's not running a Michelin restaurant the food is good but they definitely aren't the best food in town to justify the premium and very small portions. Lower your prices or increase your portion sizes...
